Calvert Voters: Current there is a pending new USPS rule that will comply with Trump's order that the USPS handle no election mail that does not have addresses that were provided to it by a "federal" list. Maryland has not turned over its voter registration list to the federal government. Therefore, should this new rule pass, it is possible that the USPS would not handle ballots from Maryland. Although this rule has not been finalized and will there will definitely be a lawsuit immediately, we are asking that Calvert County residents not take any chances. If you vote by mail and received a mail-in ballot, we are suggesting that, out of an abundance of caution, once you have filled out your ballot, that you take it to a Calvert County lock box. These are totally safe and secure and are monitored by video 24 hours a day. If you cannot get to a drop box, please call the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee office at 410- 414-3660 and leave your name and address and we will pick up your ballot and take it to the drop box for you. Of course, this is just our suggestion and you can still put it in the mail.
