“I actually can’t stand that book — the story, I mean. But I love the physical book, the cover, the smell, the welt on the spine, and that it was my mother’s. It still has a yellow hair ribbon of mine in it that I used as a bookmark. I never finished it.”

Civic learning in action in Minnesota as Civic Spring Project grantee Youthprise creates a new youth-led coalition called MN Youth Champions supporting the effort for youth to receive unemployment and pandemic related benefits.

Youthprise’s Policy Director Matt Norris and Bridgemakers Youth Leader Walter had a great chat with WCCO Radio about our joint effort to support state and federal efforts let by U.S. Senator Tina Smith to allow high school students in #Minnesota and the nation to receive unemployment and pandemic related benefits. We know young people rely on their income for urgent and real life needs. This is a critical equity issue affecting youth in Minnesota and across the country. Our joint effort is coming to life as MN Youth Champions funded by a Civic Spring grant from the WW Foundation focusing on supporting young people voting and access to unemployment benefits.

Now that Princeton University has decided to remove Woodrow Wilson's name from the School of Public and International Affairs, isn't it time for the Foundation to change its name, as well? The WWF has done much too much good to remain linked to the name of this racist man and aligned with his personal and political views, even if only nominally. Robert Benson, Woodrow Wilson Fellow, 1966-67
I would be interested in a statistical analysis of the survey regarding Americans' knowledge of US citizenship questions. You have shown that 19% of those under age 45 could pass with 6 or more questions correct. It would be most intriguing to know what is the statistical chance of correctness for randomly answering 6 out of 10 questions with 4-pronged answers, i.e with NO knowledge at all. Would it be 10%? 15% even 19%? Or, for answering 1 question simple enough that common knowledge would suffice, and the remaining 5 questions at random? etc....
