NJSHP - New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists Mission: To be visibly engaged in the enhancement of health care through professional development of our members in the practice of pharmacy
(1)

For over 70 years, The New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists has been dedicated to the highest standards in institutional pharmaceutical service. NJSHP is a leader in providing pharmacy education in order to help members keep abreast of changes in medication therapy, to help members improve their pharmacy services and enhance their careers. As the nature of our profession continues to evolve, NJSHP helps you and your organization to better understand the changes that are occurring in the health care field and how to manage these changes. Our members are pharmacists and technicians who practice in hospitals, managed care organizations, home care, long-term care programs, and pharmacy students. We invite you to join with us as we continue to shape and influence pharmacy care in New Jersey.

Mission: NJSHP is the state association representing pharmacists and related personnel associated with organized health care settings. The mission of the Society is to be visibly engaged iin the enhancement of healthcare through professional development of our members in the practice of pharmacy.

NJSHP members:

The Board of Directors and I begin our year at the helm of NJSHP with much on our minds and in our hearts. From the COVID-19 pandemic to upheaval in our communities, I want to take a moment to recognize the protests taking place across our state. NJSHP stands on values that support diversity, equality, inclusion, and non-violence at all levels. Injustice and intolerance of any kind has no place in our profession, in our communities, or in our state. Our mission resides in supporting our members and colleagues and in serving all patients who need assistance.

NJSHP has been a leader in statewide and community efforts to promote education, professional development, and advocacy for the pharmacy profession. It is with this same spirit that we commit ourselves to working together with our membership and professional colleagues in advancing public health, and fighting against disparities in healthcare and injustices of every kind.

I look forward to working with you all this year in advocating for our patients and profession.

Sincerely,

Daniel T. Abazia, PharmD, BCPS, CPPS

President, New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists

The last few years have seen dramatic changes in the delivery of healthcare, and rising costs continue to focus government leaders on ways to provide quality and cost-effective care. Pharmacy needs to be at the table to discuss our unique areas of expertise and the ways in which we can enhance the delivery of care through medication therapy management.

Whether you are a pharmacist, technician or pharmacy student, NJSHP is addressing many issues that will impact your future practice.

Your membership helps NJSHP demonstrate unity and strength. We become greater than the sum of our parts.
