A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who showed up to our first AASA meeting of the year today! The turnout was absolutely incredible; we loved hearing all of your thoughts, and were so thrilled to have you with us! (a shoutout to the freshmen especially)

This past weekend, AASA launched the first of its FIELD TRIPS program to see the premiere of the documentary Human Flow by the artist Ai Weiwei in NYC! Our group went to the Angelika Film Center for the showing of the documentary, which shed light on the global refugee crisis in multiple countries and from multiple perspectives. Afterwards, we attended a post-film Q&A with Ai Weiwei himself (!!), and then continued discussing the documentary and the intersection of art and activism over a delicious dinner at Noho Star.

*We would like to express our gratitude to the Carl A. Fields Center for Equality and Cultural Understanding for sponsoring the entire trip!*

Please stay tuned for future trips — any and all are welcome to sign up. :)
If you have any questions or want to know more, please contact our Co-Cultural Advocate Toni Xu ([email protected]).
