The Fair Association needs five picnic tables for their 100+ 1 Anniversary of the S. St. Louis County Fair this summer. If you can donate a table to them it would be great. Call Mary Korich at 218-348-1453.
Because of the pandemic they were unable to celebrate the Fair's 100th Anniversary last year. Let's show our support to their staff and this great event.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
It has been brought to our attention an individual working the City of Proctor election tested positive for COVID-19. It is unknown when the individual came in contact with the virus. The election official was and is asymptomatic. The Minnesota Department of Health will be conducting the contact tracing.
The Minnesota Department of Health advised anyone who spent 15 minutes or more within 6 feet this person would be at risk. This particular election official was stationed behind plexiglass and wore a face mask the entire time.
The City of Proctor took many other safety precautions to keep voters safe such as encouraging social distancing, sanitizing voting stations and writing utensils and wearing face coverings at all times. One City employee who was in close contact with this individual has been tested and the results of that test came back negative.
At this time we believe there is no immediate risk to City of Proctor voters or employees. However, as a precautionary measure we have closed City Hall and sent our employees home for the remainder of the week so we can properly clean and fumigate City Hall. We are taking this positive test result very seriously and will be diligent to ensure the safety of our staff and City of Proctor residents.
The Minnesota Department of Health recommends you speak to your health care provider if you have questions or concerns on when to get tested. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.

PROCTOR RESIDENTS EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING
Proctor residents can vote early in-person at the St. Louis County Auditor's Office from September 18 to November 2. To vote early in-person, visit the St. Louis County Auditor’s Office in the Duluth Courthouse building at 100 North 5th Avenue on the following dates and times:
Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm
Saturday, October 31st 10 am – 3 pm
Monday, November 2 8 am – 5 pm
The courthouse building is closed due to COVID. However, instructions and phone number are posted at entrances for voters to call the Auditor’s office, and request an absentee ballot application be brought to them. An election official will meet you at the courthouse entrance with an absentee ballot application which you will complete and give back to the election official. The election official will process your absentee ballot application and return with your absentee ballot. You can either 1) complete the ballot and return it to the election official, 2) take the application home and return it by mail or, 3) drop your ballot in the Second Street drop box at the courthouse.
Save time by filling out a printed paper absentee ballot application and having it with you when you visit the courthouse. https://www.sos.state.mn.us/media/2444/english-regular-absentee-ballot-application.pdf. You also have the option of submitting the absentee ballot application online in which case the absentee ballot will be mailed to you. You can then drop your completed ballot in person at the courthouse.
The City of Proctor will be adding an early in-person voting process for future elections.
