Breezy westerly winds and very dry air will combine to support critical to near-critical fire weather conditions today across the Northland. Any fires that start could spread quickly! Be sure to check with your local authorities for any burning restrictions. If you spot an out of control fire, be sure to report it to local authorities! Recently, we have both seen many openly speaking up about speeding in our area, and witnessed it.

Please slow down. So many people are out enjoying the nice weather, kids are getting on/off of School Busses, and it is very easy to hurt yourself and/or someone else by getting into an accident with another vehicle or by not paying attention and not spotting a pedestrian.
We really do not want to have to respond to any calls where someone isn’t able to go home because of reckless driving. We want to see everyone able to enjoy their summer without worry of senseless driving.

Stay off of the phone, Drive responsibly, watch for pedestrians, and please abide by the posted speed limit.

Brush pick up is more important than we think! Defensible space is essential to improve your home’s chance of surviving a wildfire. It’s the buffer you create between a building on your property and the grass, trees, shrubs, or any wildland area that surround it. This space is needed to slow or stop the spread of wildfire and it helps protect your home from catching fire—either from direct flame contact or radiant heat. It also helps us Firefighters. 🔥
