Join us Saturday, June 26th at 9:00 AM at Mooreโ€™s Lake Park, entrance on 15th Ave, for a native tree and riparian buffer maintenance day.

Weโ€™re working together to keep our recently planted trees healthy by removing weeds around the base and refreshing mulch to help retain moisture and support strong growth. Itโ€™s simple work, but it makes a real difference for long-term survival and habitat health along the creek corridor.

Bring gloves if you have them, wear sturdy shoes, and dress for outdoor work. Weโ€™ll provide tools and guidance on site.

See you there ๐ŸŒฑ

๐ŸŒณ Proud Moment for Prospect Park ๐ŸŒณ

Last night, I joined watershed specialist Chris Cook and district manager Karen Lochman of the Delaware County Conservation District at the 2026 Governorโ€™s Awards for Environmental Excellence banquet, where they were recognized for their outstanding work in environmental sustainability and watershed stewardship.

Prospect Park Borough was honored to be recognized as a project partner in the Stoney Creek Riparian Buffer Restoration Project. Through collaboration between the Conservation District, volunteers, community organizations, and borough staff, more than 700 native trees and shrubs were planted along Stoney Creek to improve water quality, restore wildlife habitat, and strengthen the health of the Darby Creek watershed.

What makes this achievement especially meaningful is that it was accomplished at little to no cost to our residents through strong partnerships, volunteerism, and in-house support from our Borough Highway Department.

This award is a testament to what can be accomplished when local government, community organizations, and residents work together toward a common goal. Thank you to the Delaware County Conservation District and everyone who contributed their time and effort to this important project.
