Provo City Airport marked a milestone with the opening of a dedicated snow-removal equipment building. The eight pull-through bays let crews service equipment quickly and keep operations ready during winter storms, with office space for the operations team as well.

The project was funded in part by the FAA as the airport expands from four gates to ten and eyes international service in coming years. July was the airport’s best month ever, and it now offers 16 nonstop destinations weekly with American, Allegiant, and Breeze.

If you’re planning a trip, consider flying out of Provo.

Save water by upgrading your irrigation system.

Traditional spray sprinklers often apply water too quickly, causing runoff onto sidewalks and roads. High-efficiency rotary nozzles deliver water in slow, controlled streams that soak into the soil, reduce overspray, and limit wind drift. Learn more about our $3 per rotary nozzle rebate and apply through Provo's Water Efficiency Programs at provo.gov/water-efficiency.

Looking for additional savings? Consider switching landscape beds to drip irrigation. The Central Utah Water Conservancy District offers incentives through its Switch to Drip Program at utahwatersavers.com/central-utah-water-conservancy-district-lip-details-rural.

Join us on Saturday August 22nd at 11:00 AM as we celebrate the new Provo River Bridge & Trail at 820 North! RSVP at provoriverbridge.com.

This project improves safety for drivers, bicyclists, pedestrians, and trail users, while improving connections between Provo’s east and west sides.

Highlights include:
Ā· New vehicle lanes with a shared center-turn lane
Ā· Bike lanes on both sides of the road
Ā· Wide pedestrian paths
Ā· Concrete barriers separating pedestrians from traffic
Ā· A bridge designed for a 75-year service life

The improved underpass also features a new mural and provides smoother access to the Provo River Trail.

Thank you to everyone for your patience during construction as we worked to deliver a safer, more connected corridor for the Provo community!

School’s back. So are the backpacks. šŸŽ’

Our streets and sidewalks are getting a whole lot busier.

Let’s start the school year safely, look out for each other, and especially our kids.

Slow Your Roll, Provo. šŸ’™

Last week, Provo continued our process to enhance accessibility under the Americans with Disability Act.

We talk a lot about making government more transparent and accountable, but government also must be accessible. If residents can’t physically enter a building, navigate our streets and sidewalks, access our information, or participate in a public meeting, then we haven’t fully delivered on that promise.

Together, we can ensure every resident can fully participate, because ADA compliance isn’t just about legality. It’s about community.

🚧 Traffic Alert: University Avenue Bridge Project 🚧

There is a lot of work happening on the University Avenue Bridge Replacement Project over the next few weeks, which means traffic patterns will continue to shift.

• 600 South under the bridge will be fully closed Aug. 14 at 10 p.m. through Aug. 17 at 5 a.m. for utility work.
• 600 South will close again overnight Monday and Tuesday for bridge girder installation.
• Bridge girders will be staged along University Avenue, with one-way flagging in place during nighttime installation work from Aug. 14-18.
• A traffic shift at 920 South is expected as early as Aug. 15 for utility work and installation of a new water line. Overnight flagging operations will occur at the 920 South intersection Aug. 18-20.
• Access to businesses will be maintained throughout construction.

Please slow down, follow the direction of flaggers and traffic control, and give crews and other drivers a little extra patience as this work takes place.
