We are thrilled to announce the official opening of the brand-new facility that will serve as the new Ersilia Cruz Middle School! Join us Wednesday, August 10th as we officially cut the ribbon and open the doors!

ECMS Principal Fred Segura will be joined by CHPA President/CEO Hal Stevens, and CHPA Board President Stephen Varela in welcoming everyone to commemorate the new school opening its doors. The ceremony will also include speakers on behalf of the City of Pueblo, CRP Architects Design Team, the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, and the Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce. Music for the event will be provided by CHPA’s own Mariachi Águila.

After the official ribbon cutting takes place, all attendants are invited to enjoy a tour of the facility along with refreshments graciously provided by Wember, Inc. and Nunn Construction.

CHPA is partnering with Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado to host a FREE FOOD DISTRIBUTION!! This is for all who eat! Anyone and everyone is invited to come "shop" for some delicious and nutritious food items! No personal information is required to receive food items!

Hello Everyone!

Mariachi Aguila of Chavez Huerta Preparatory Academy is a full advanced Mariachi performance group made up of middle and high school students. The mission and vision of the Mariachi program is to instill and promote cultural and traditional Mariachi music. Students who choose to be a part of the program take daily classes, which involve not only playing an instrument, but also learning music theory, linguistics and the history of the music that they are performing.

Mariachi Aguila is a very active performing band. Some of its performances include performing at the Denver Capitol, Skysox Game, Latino Chamber Meetings, tours to Nebraska and Colorado, Mexican Folklorico dancers performances, overseas performances (Austria, Italy and Portugal), weddings, and other private celebrations.

The Advanced Mariachi group is made up of the following:
