Hillcrest Elementary excitedly welcomes a talented and passionate bunch of new staff members this school year.

Carolynn Bodwell joins the 4K team, sharing her time with Lannoye Elementary.

Toree Kuehnau is teaching first grade. She loves "watching kids learn, seeing those big aha moments. I can make school fun for students, what a privilege! Teaching can also mean working with some deeply caring and loving people."

Lauren Nordwig is teaching second grade. "What excites me most about joining PCSD is the positive culture and the genuine commitment to putting students first. From my very first interactions, everyone has been so welcoming, supportive and joyful."

Kelsey Waggoner is teaching third grade. "Being a Pulaski alum has really made me excited to join PCSD again, but this time as a teacher! This district has always given me a feeling of a welcoming/supportive community which I feel sets Pulaski apart from other districts."

Morgan Keles is teaching fifth grade. "I enjoy seeing student growth – both academically and personally. It's rewarding to watch students build confidence, overcome challenges and realize what they're capable of. Being part of that process and helping them succeed is what makes teaching so meaningful to me."

Rebecca Darrow is a paraprofessional.

Please be patient and courteous next week during our school drop-off and pick-up times in the Village of Pulaski. And parents, please remind your student walkers and drivers to remain alert when traveling on and across St. Augustine St.

A little extra attentiveness will help keep everyone safe!

It was wonderful to see our students and families this week! Our school open houses gave us the boost of energy we needed to launch into the school year.

Enjoy the last weekend of summer break. We will be ready to greet you Monday morning!

Fairview Elementary will have a few new faces this year. And we are very excited for them to welcome students next week.

Mrs. Orthober joins us with the goal this year to "make great connections with the students and families in my class."

Ms. Falkenberg is most excited to "be part of a district that is committed to helping every student grow and succeed."

Mrs. Frank is invigorated to begin the year: "I decided to become a teacher after working as a paraprofessional for a few years. I wanted children to see what they were truly capable of and provide them with the tools and guidance to be successful."

Mrs. Carter is looking forward to making "connections with my peers in my building as well as build relationships with my students to help them succeed and have fun each day.

Ms. Gwidt is excited for "the opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape me and make a positive impact on the next generation."

Mrs. Schaal is excited to join our special education team at Fairview this year.

Haley Watterud is also joining Sunnyside Elementary School this year. She is our newest special education teacher, autism specialist.

She is excited to get to work, saying, "As a resident of this community, joining PCSD allows me to give back directly to the district I call home. I am excited to bring my teaching experience to our local schools, collaborate with families, and ensure every child in our community receives the support they need to thrive.

We welcome Lillian Kolz, who will be teaching first grade students at Sunnyside Elementary School this year!

Ms. Kolz's goal this year is to "inspire a love of learning in my students while building meaningful relationships with them, their families and my colleagues. I also look forward to becoming an active and engaged member of our school community."
