Good evening, Gadsden! Here’s some
exciting news!

Nine GCSD high school seniors will have the opportunity to complete their correctional officer training at FPSI and take the required state exams before graduating high school. 🎓

Upon completing the program and passing their exams, these students can graduate not only with their high school diploma but also as certified, career-ready correctional officers in the State of Florida! 👏🏾

We’re proud of our students and excited to continue expanding opportunities in partnership with the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office and FPSI, laying the foundation for great careers. 💙💛

UPDATE: Chattahoochee Elementary School Lockdown Lifted

Good afternoon, Gadsden Families,

Law enforcement has apprehended the Florida State Hospital patient, and the lockdown at Chattahoochee Elementary School has been lifted.

All students, faculty, and staff are safe, and normal school operations have resumed.

Thank you to law enforcement for their quick response and assistance in keeping our school community safe.

Chattahoochee Elementary School is currently on lockdown as a precautionary safety measure following the escape of a patient from Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, FL.

Law enforcement is actively working to locate and apprehend the individual. Students, faculty, and staff are secure, and the school will remain on lockdown until law enforcement gives clearance.

We will provide an update as soon as the lockdown is lifted. As always, the safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff remain our highest priority.
