GMASS has been contracted to assist with property reviews within Brooks County.

🔹Appraisers will be visiting properties to conduct brief visual inspections, which may include grading, measuring, and photographing structures.

🔹Please note that these inspections are exterior only; appraisers will not enter any homes.

🔹All appraisers will have clearly marked vehicles and carry identification badges.

CORRECTION – PROPERTY IN LEVY PUBLICATION

In the levy advertisement published in the Quitman Free Press on March 11, several parcels were mistakenly included that had previously been removed from levy status.

The Tax Commissioner’s Office had provided the newspaper with an updated levy list prior to publication; however, an outdated list was used in error during the printing process.

If your name appeared in the publication but your property had already been resolved, please know that your account is NOT currently in levy.

We understand this may have caused concern for those affected. The newspaper has been notified and a correction will be requested in next week's publication.

The Free Press regrets the error and apologizes for any confusion this may have caused.
