Mission Accomplished — One Day Early! 🎉

The Raleigh Recruiting Battalion has officially achieved its June Regular Army and Army Reserve mission—one day ahead of schedule! This accomplishment is a direct reflection of the dedication, teamwork, and relentless commitment of our recruiters and leaders across the Bulldog Battalion.

To commemorate this outstanding achievement, SFC Nestor Rossi, Greenville Station Commander, had the honor of ringing the Battalion airhorne, celebrating the hard work and determination that made this success possible.

🎓 Congratulations to the newest members of the Raleigh Recruiting Battalion team!

Today, our newest recruiters graduated the Raleigh Recruiting Battalion Pup Academy, a two-day onboarding course designed to prepare new recruiters for success as they begin their recruiting journey.

Throughout the course, these Soldiers received valuable training, mentorship, and insight into the mission, setting the foundation for the important work they will do in serving communities across North Carolina.

Graduates were presented certificates of completion by Battalion Command Sergeant Major Robert White and Battalion Executive Officer Maj. Eder Bennett, recognizing their commitment to excellence and readiness to join the battalion’s mission.

Welcome to the team, and congratulations on this important milestone. We look forward to seeing all you accomplish!

Happy Juneteenth! 🎉

Today, we honor June 19, 1865—the day the news of emancipation finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, marking the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation.

As we celebrate Black freedom, resilience, and culture, we also pause to honor the incredible courage of the soldiers who fought side-by-side to make this liberation a reality. This day belongs to the legacy of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) and the white Union soldiers who stood, fought, and sacrificed together on the battlefields of the Civil War to dismantle slavery and preserve the Union.

When Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston to deliver General Order No. 3, he was backed by a diverse force of Union soldiers—both Black and white—who marched together to ensure that freedom was finally enforced.

Their shared commitment to the cause of liberty laid the foundation for the freedoms we celebrate today. As we commemorate this historic day, let us remember their collective sacrifice and recommit to the ongoing journey toward unity, equality, and justice for all.

For 251 years, the United States Army has stood as an enduring symbol of strength, honor, and unwavering sacrifice. From the brave patriots of the Continental Army in 1775 to today’s highly skilled and technologically advanced force, generations of Soldiers from every background, culture, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, and walk of life have answered the call to defend freedom, often placing duty above self. Through every challenge and every era, the Army has evolved to meet the Nation’s needs while remaining steadfast in its sacred commitment to protect the American people.

As we celebrate the Army’s 251st Birthday, we proudly honor the Soldiers—past and present—whose courage, resilience, and devotion have shaped our Nation’s history. Across centuries of service, Americans from diverse communities and backgrounds have borne the weight of responsibility, faced hardship with determination, and made extraordinary sacrifices in defense of something greater than themselves. While battlefields, equipment, and missions have changed, the spirit of America’s Army—defined by selfless service, loyalty, and valor—remains unshakable.

Today, Greenville Company marked a significant milestone during its Change of Command Ceremony, honoring the legacy of outgoing leadership while welcoming a new commander to lead the company forward.

Surrounded by Soldiers, family members, friends, and community supporters, the ceremony reflected the Army’s time-honored traditions and the enduring commitment to mission success, leadership development, and taking care of Soldiers and their families.

As the guidon passes from one commander to the next, so does the responsibility of leading America’s next generation of Soldiers. We thank the outgoing commander for their dedication and service and wish the incoming commander continued success as they assume command of Greenville Company.

Future Soldiers from the Greenville Recruiting Company took the Oath of Enlistment during an Our Community Salutes (OCS) ceremony, marking the beginning of their journey to serve our nation.

A special thank you to Congressman Don Davis for attending and recognizing these young men and women as they committed themselves to something greater than themselves. Events like OCS celebrate the dedication, courage, and selfless service of our nation’s newest volunteers while bringing together families, educators, community leaders, and military supporters.

Congratulations to these Future Soldiers as they take the first step toward earning the title of Soldier. 🇺🇸

At a time of growing challenges around the world, the decision to join the military right out of high school and defend our nation speaks to the character, patriotism, and strength that continue to define eastern North Carolina.
