“They said I could pick a different MOS. They said there was a lot of heavy lifting. It's a pretty high speed job and I would be the first female. I was pretty excited about it. I called my husband. He's infantry and works side by side with 13 Bravos. He told me what to expect and I just went for it." --Sgt. Katherine Beatty
In 2016, Beatty became the first woman to reclassify to become a cannon crewmember. Not only did she pass, she excelled, earning the title of distinguished honor graduate for Class No. 12-16.

#March is Women's History Month. This month and every month we celebrate women's contributions to Army and the integral role they play on a daily basis.

From serving in the Women's Army Corps to competing for elite tabs such as Ranger and Sapper, women continue to pave the way for equality in the military.

Happy Women's History Month, America!

So thankful for all those that are serving our country. You're all incredible heroes! I have a great amount of respect for our troops and have been feeling especially patriotic recently. I decided to watch David Salzberg's latest combat documentary called Above the Best and I was thoroughly impressed. The movie follows soldiers and pilots deployed in 2007 in the most dangerous valley of Afghanistan and shines a spotlight on the danger these men and women put themselves in to protect not only our country, but also each other. Highly recommend if this sounds like a film you could enjoy! The trailer's on Youtube.

My family is so grateful for Sfc Lewis! Such a professional and pleasant recruiter! Thanks for supporting and helping my niece transition smoothly through the process!
Sfc Lewis did an awesome job throughout the process of recruiting my niece. He is encouraging and he does a great job talking with new recruits and their families. Additionally he is available to answer calls and questions in a timely manner. Thank you Sfc Lewis for your great work and your positive impact on the US Army. #Armystong
I would like to recognize Sfc Lewis who was my recruiter when I was looking to join the Army. Because of his dedication to his job, I was able to get the job I wanted when I joined the military. SFC Lewis would always check up on me to make sure I was physically and mentally ready for Army life. He would always tell it to me straight when I asked what I would be experiencing and never beat around the bush. Because of SFC Lewis, I was ready for basic training and I knew what to expect. I was able to do my best because he had thoroughly prepared me. Because of SFC Lewis, I was ready for my experience in basic training and active military life.
Whats up US Army Recruiting Raleigh? Let me know if there is anything you all need. My Little Top Character is produced here in NC. I"ll send you some stickers or whatever.
