Trump signs continuing resolution, keeping agencies open through Dec. 20 | Federal News Network

A four-week continuing resolution funds agencies at current levels through Dec. 20 and secures a 3.1% military pay raise, but the measure doesn’t include a similar adjustment for civilian employees.

The Alamo Federal Executive Board gavel was passed from outgoing chair Paul Braudis to incoming chair area commander Wesley “Wes” Roeder Oct. 1 during the board's annual Executive Policy Council conducted at the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG). Incoming co- and vice-chairs to the board were also introduced at this meeting. They are Curtis Robertson, 12th Flying Training Wing, and Theresa Haak, 67th Cyberspace Wing, located at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph AFB and JBSA-Lackland AFB, respectively.

Immediately following the council meeting, AFEB hosted a networking luncheon and transitioned into the full board meeting. Twenty agencies represented at the board meeting showcased the area Feds Feed Families award winners. They included the National Active and Retired Federal Employees and NSA - National Security Agency, but taking home the AFEB Feds Feed Families roving trophy was the members of the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Junior Enlisted Association from the Navy Medicine Training Support Center, who collected nearly 15,000 pounds of food donations.

Topics spanning all three AFEB lines of business discussed included the AFEB mission brief, calendar of events for fiscal 2020, emergency notification processes and expectations, and shared neutrals consortium. The afternoon included discussions by the integrated marketing and strategic communications firm Penngood, the South Central Texas outreach coordinator for the 2019 Combined Federal Campaign, which provided information and updates for the campaign now underway. Also, Zurlieka Morales-Romero, HUD director, briefed on Opportunity Zones followed by U.S. Marshals Assistant Chief Deputy Marshal Meagan McMahon, who provided an update on recent restructuring challenges and accomplishments by the marshal service.
