We are currently looking to add new members to our club who are interested in helping others and keeping Roxbury a great place to live. If you would like to hear more about membership please let me know.

At yesterday’s Roxbury Rotary Club meeting, members Jaki Albrecht and Steve Alford were awarded the coveted Paul Harris fellowship for their extraordinary dedication to helping others during this past Rotary year. $1,000 will be donated in each of their names to help eradicate the world of Polio and provided clean drinking water for all. Presenting this award was Don Schuld.

This is going to be a great project

Here’s why we do fundraisers:

Hello,
I would like to thank the Roxbury Rotary Club for making such a generous donation to my Eagle Scout Project. This donation will really help me with reaching my donation goal of $2,000 as it hasn't been easy during these times to acquire donations. To recap, I am building a floating kayak launch at the Black River Park just off of Main Street. I chose this project because I love kayaking and I wanted to bring more attention to the sport in our area so more people can enjoy the outdoors in our beautiful community. I've attached the design plan so you can see what the dock will look like.
As a thank you to all my sponsors, I will be engraving their name or company name into the face deck boards for all to see for many years to come. If you know of a business that would possibly like to take part in my project and have their name engraved on the dock, please let me know and I would be happy to talk to them.
Once again, thank you so much for making the donation to my project and for letting me speak at the meeting.

Jimmy Dontas is a Roxbury Rotarian and runs a wonderful restaurant--a mainstay of Roxbury Township.

We're featuring local restaurants (boy do we miss them) and documenting how they're dealing with the shutdown. Roxbury Diner's Jimmy Dontas cooks up a delicious parmesan chicken on linguini, and tells us how they've been coping since the coronavirus crisis began. Their curbside pickup operation is in full swing--so watch this and order yourself something yummy!

Hacking a solution to the COVID-19 pandemic

“Through Rotary, we’re able to connect so many people around the world. It’s a great way to collaborate in this battle.” -Aurika Savickaite, Rotarian in Lithuania and a registered nurse.

Rotary International has been supporting innovative ways to help make a difference during this pandemic. Rotarians have been advocating the use of bubble helmets for COVID-19 patients. These can be used as an alternative towards the overwhelming need for mechanical ventilators. Another benefit of these helmets is that no incubation is required while giving the supply of oxygen.

For more information, the article is attached below!

Rotarians in Lithuania and Chicago, Illinois, USA, are using their influence to promote the use of “bubble helmets” and potentially lessen the need for mechanical ventilators for COVID-19 patients who struggle to breathe on their own.
