JB Pritzker and Illinois Democrats are setting us up for an exact, if not worse, repeat of 2023. Residents and job creators will continue to flee Illinois for other states with lower taxes if we don't stop overtaxing them.

It's time for the majority party to take up tax reform now. House Republicans are committed to advancing policies that lower costs for Illinois families.

In coordination with my Women's Leadership Initiative Program, I'm excited to announce the 2026 Leadership Summit, scheduled for June 24 at Southwestern Illinois College's Red Bud Campus.

This summit is for incoming and current female students in grades 9-12. Participants will connect with mentors, educators, and key professionals. The summit will also feature a keynote address and hands-on workshops.

In honor of National Nurses Week, I was happy to visit Red Bud Regional Hospital this morning to meet with nurses, administration, and staff, and to drop off donuts as a small token of appreciation for all they do for our communities each and every day.

Thank you to all the incredible nurses across our state for the dedication and care you provide to our communities!

This week, I joined law enforcement and families from across our state for the 2026 Police Memorial. This ceremony is a chance for us to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as to remember the fallen police officers from across the state.

We owe our appreciation to our law enforcement officers and must never forget the legacy of those who answered the final call. God bless our law enforcement.

Today, we were joined in the House by the Fighting Illini Men's Basketball Team, who wrapped up with an amazing finish in the Final Four of March Madness. We congratulated their remarkable season by passing HR867.

It's Teacher Appreciation Week, which has a very special meaning for my family and me. My wife Miki, my sister, and my wife's two sisters have served as educators for years now. I'm happy to stand with teachers across the 115th who work hard every day to educate our students.

Last week, Governor Pritzker and Illinois Democrats attempted to further rig Illinois’ election maps in favor of their party by passing HJRCA28. Fortunately, after the Supreme Court's decision this week in Louisiana v. Callais, the amendment has stalled in the Senate.

Illinois Democrats will stop at nothing, and we must keep fighting against it!
