Last night, the primary election was completed, and while the outcome was not what we had hoped for, I am proud of the campaign we ran and, more importantly, proud that we stayed true to my commitment to Sauk County.
For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of serving within the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department. That commitment to this community does not end with an election. I will continue to serve, support, and work for the people of Sauk County with the same dedication I have always had.
I want to congratulate Captain Burch on moving forward in this election. I wish him the very best in the next chapter. This community deserves strong leadership and a Sheriff who will serve with integrity and dedication.
To my family, my wife, and my incredible campaign team—thank you. You stood beside me through every step of this journey. I could not have done this without your love, encouragement, hard work, and belief in me.
And to the people of Sauk County: thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Yesterday, I received so many messages, texts, emails, calls, and words of encouragement. I read them, I felt them, and I am incredibly grateful. Your support meant more to me than I can put into words.
An election may determine a result, but it does not define a career, a commitment, or a person’s dedication to the community they serve.
My commitment to Sauk County remains. My service continues.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving you for more than 25 years. I am proud of where I come from, proud of the work we accomplished together, and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this community.
