Really great to see this recognition for Superintendent Runey.

Awards like this are meaningful, but what stands out more is the steady, day-to-day leadership behind it. The focus on students, expanding opportunities, and building a strong sense of community across the district is something a lot of people here see and feel.

Appreciate the work being done and the direction we’re heading. Well deserved recognition.

🎉Congratulations to Superintendent Runey!

We are proud to share that Superintendent Bill Runey has been named one of Education Insider Magazine’s Top Fifteen School District Superintendents of 2026! This distinguished, national honor celebrates Mr. Runey’s leadership philosophy which is rooted in trust, connection, and purpose, and shaped by a lifelong commitment to service and education.

Under Bill’s leadership, the district continues DRiving Toward our 2030 strategic plan, expanding opportunities for students through strong academics, growing Career & Technical Education pathways, and a culture that prioritizes relationships across our school community.

“This work is never about one person,” Runey said. “It’s about the incredible students, educators, and families who show up every day committed to learning and supporting one another.”

It says a lot when someone steps up because they care, not because they’re chasing a title.

Over the past year, I’ve had the chance to get to know Lori Lesniak through her work in our district, and I’ve been consistently impressed. She shows up. She does the homework. She listens. And she understands both the numbers and the people behind them.

As a parent and foster parent, she sees firsthand how policy decisions affect families. As a small business owner with an accounting background, she understands fiscal responsibility in a very real way. Her work with SEPAC, the Wellness Committee, and the PTSA shows she is already invested in our students and staff.

School Committee work requires balance. You have to keep students at the center, support educators, communicate clearly with families, and steward taxpayer dollars responsibly. Lori brings the temperament and the experience to do all of that thoughtfully.

I’m proud to support Lori Lesniak for DR School Committee and I hope you’ll take a close look at her candidacy as well.

Wow! We did it!

I am truly honored and beyond grateful to stand here as your newly elected member of the Dighton-Rehoboth School Committee. This win is not just mine. It belongs to all of us who believe in strong schools, responsible leadership, and doing what is best for our students and teachers.

First, thank you to everyone who took the time to vote today. Your voice matters, and I am so proud to be part of a community that cares so deeply about the future of our schools. Whether you voted for me or not, I want you to know that I will work hard every day to represent you and make decisions that put our students first.

To my family and friends, thank you for standing by me through this entire process. Literally during the worst possible weather this morning, you were by my side. Your support has meant everything, and I could not have done this without you.

To the amazing volunteers who showed up, knocked on doors, held signs, made calls, and spread the word, this campaign was built on your hard work. I cannot thank you enough. Every conversation, every effort, and every late night paid off, and I am so proud of what we accomplished together.

This campaign was never just about winning. It was about making sure our schools have the leadership they deserve, that our teachers get the support they need, and that every student has the opportunity to succeed. Now it is time to get to work.
