Inspired Child Inspired Child Giving Truth a Voice One Child at a Time. Please join us in developing and celebrating the creativity of children!

Inspired Child provides arts education, technology education, and artist development programs infused with anti-oppression strategies. Inspired Child Programs are designed to develop creativity, inner strength, and leadership in our children and build capacity in our communities to overcome the barriers of institutionalized oppression. Inspired Child strives to create an authentic sense of community among the many incredible and talented POC, LGBT+, and Ally artist and scientist here in Seattle and facilitate the transference of craft from those who are experienced to those who are inspired to learn. Inspired Child programming is a vehicle for social change and community empowerment. Inspired Child programs have been contracted/funded by Seattle Parks and Recreation, Seattle Public Libraries, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, 4Culture, Shoreline Community College, Edmonds Community College, and Poets & Writers. Inspired Child Core Programs & Projects: The Children’s Open Mic, Love, Power, and Purpose Summer Program, Inspired Technology Skills and Media Education Program (IT’s ME program) and the Artist Collective Project.

Inspired Child would like to thank the 46 artist’s who shared their gifts with community over the past 5 days at the 6th Annual Verbal Oasis Spoken Word Festival! A special thank you to co-curators Garfield Hillson and Shakiah Danielson. Much love to my co-hosts Lakema Bell and Deaunte Damper. Gratitude to Brother Jabari and LeVoy Cook for holding down sound and video. We couldn’t have done it with out Dani Tirrell, Imani Sims and Shan’s support! Profound appreciation to the band, It has been an honor and privilege to rock with Brittany Davis, Christopher Patin and Darry Wilmore these past 6 years! Shout out to Medearis Dixson for making us want a quartet! Let’s do it again - Labor Day weekend 2027.

EarthSpeak: A Poetic Ritual for Mother Earth — An Ancestral Sound Garden for Wisdom and Healing

Featuring spoken word by Storme Webber, Jen Moore, and Monique Franklin, interwoven with the EarthSpeaks Sound Bath by Jen Moore, and Yoga Nidra with Sophia Haddix.

EarthSpeak is a one-hour ceremonial spoken word and sound experience rooted in ancestral wisdom, earth-based remembrance, and collective healing. This immersive sound garden evokes mother Earth’s voice while weaving poetry with intention, affirmation and the sounds of the natural world.
