We do not mind helping the community and not sure who thought this was acceptable to do. Rolled up dumped this at the end of the driveway. This debris was also littered with rock and brick and was dumped in the hay pasture. In addition got stuck in the ditch. No message, warning or anything. The property is not a dumping ground. Iโ€™m pretty sure that you would not appreciate if these actions were performed on your property. Respect the property as you would respect your own.

ATTENTION!
Unfortunately, WCR has to stop all new intakes for the foreseeable future! This means all domestic and wildlife! Any intakes of roos and drakes will be based on capacity, so you can always check back with us.
We are maxed out for capacity at this time and now our few fosters are either leaving the area or preparing for summer vacation and then back to school will kick in and none will not be able to assist!
Sadly, we will be busy maintaining our current sanctuary residents and rescues and not taking on more for the remainder of year.
We will not leave you behind however,
Here are some resources below!
For wildlife emergencies, please contact other local rehabs in the area:
Some suggestions nearby are:
Cathy Burns with Predator or Prey
Wild at Heart Wildlife Sanctuary
Possumwood Acres
Coastal Carolina Wildlife Rehab
Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter
Skywatch Bird Rescue
Or use the link below to find a local rehabber:
https://ncwrc.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=24817ead6093405e986fba09689b69e5
In an absolute emergency, please call us at 910-899-8531 and if someone is available, we can possibly stablize the wildlife intake and transfer out.

For domestic animals including dogs and cats, we are not able to assist at this time. However, we will be happy to loan out our cat traps if you want to participate in TNVR (trap, neuter, vaccinate and release). Just message if you need to borrow traps!

In the meantime, please consider keeping your pet! They will be much happier waiting on you to get off work everyday than at a shelter! Consider adopting that little kitten you just found!! There are tons of resources for low cost vaccines and spay/neuter assistance, as well as pet food pantry programs! If you feed the stray, please fix that stray!!!
Brief list below of resources:
Adoption First
Shoreline Animal Hospital
Ideal Pet Care
OC Paw Vouchers
Wilmington Animal Centrix
Fix a Friend
Cape Fear Spay and Neuter

Thank you for the continued support and stay tuned for sanctuary updates to include any available adoptions, enclosure builds, and upcoming events!
Please continue to support our efforts by donating!

It has been a very busy summer on the ranch caring for everybody!
From daily medical checks and many trips back and forth for veterinary care at NC State, followed by tons of email chains, then bringing work home to help spay and neuter clinic days to assisting with transports and catching the infamous Kenai and even a media interview! Oh and building catios and enclosures!! Whew!! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
However, we are very grateful to be nominated for a grant and it was presented to us by Dr. Deb McArthur-Wicks on behalf of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association for the $1000 Friends Grant!
We will put the funds directly to our veterinary account bill at Shoreline!
We are a nonprofit and solely run off donations and our personal funds! Please consider helping us to improve the lives of many animals!
We always need cat food the most!!! Wet or dry! Links to help are posted below!

UPDATE! Yunna has found a wonderful home!!
Hey Friends! Yunna here is approximately 8 yrs old spayed female Bulldog that is looking for the perfect family!
She loves kids and cats and with dogs she tends to be more of the โ€œin chargeโ€ kind of pal, so dogs would need to not be alpha types. She is the boss!
If you are interested in adopting her please reach out and we will get you in touch with her current parents.

Our Jackal has the most stunning eyes and lashes and that ear curl to die for! ๐Ÿ”ฅ swoon worthy! The Jackal is an African Caracal with special needs. He is diagnosed with EPI. A condition rare in cats, and unheard of in the wild cats usually. His pancreas does not produce enough digestive enzymes. This leads to malabsorption of nutrients.

Jackal is being closely monitored by NC State due to his rapid weight loss recently. Sadly, we do not have biopsy results in yet, but primary scopes are not looking so good. We hope to have a full idea of what we are dealing with and how to manage it very quickly. Sadly, this isnโ€™t an EPI flare. This is a new condition.
In the meantime, we have a huge request!
We need more whole prey stocked in freezers as Jackal is on a strict diet and we can use an assist in funds. Jackalโ€™s current veterinary bill is over $6k. We do not receive public funds or grants. Everything is done on our personal budget and we will always make sure our animals get the most care possible.
We can use your help! Any donations are so appreciated! We are a Nonprofit 501(c)(3) and any donations are tax deductible!
Whole prey-Please see rodent pro website here: https://www.rodentpro.com/
We get told often that people donโ€™t know what to order, thats the fun part! Order any frozen whole prey!! All types and sizes are neededShoreline Veterinary Hospital, PLLCerbils, etc. If you are not comfortable with directly ordering and shipping to us, you can also send funds for purchase or purchase a gift card from Rodent Pro for food donation.
We can use assistance on veterinary bills, not only for Jackal but all of the residents on WCR. Our domestic cats get routine treatment, prevention and care. Our primary rescue veterinary care is through Shoreline Veterinary Hospital, PLLC and you can call them at 910-238-2015 during the weekdays and make a donation on our account with them to be applied to our bills.
We also have a chewy and amazon link for food, supplements, enrichment items and misc supplies needed every day here for the domestic and wild animals in our care.
Thank you from the bottom of our wild hearts here at WCR!
