The Virginia Civic Engagement Table strengthens and connects Virginia's progressive nonprofit organizations and activists and acts as a hub for the larger progressive community. We believe our Commonwealth works best when every voice is heard. We are a coalition of over 35 partner organizations who have long histories of civic activism in Virginia. Some of our partners work on policy development,

some on issue advocacy, some on grassroots organizing. All are committed to improving the common good by pursuing an integrated communications and civic engagement strategy. As charitable organizations, the groups do not intervene in elections to support or oppose candidates or political parties. Instead, they seek to strengthen Virginia's civic institutions by educating the public about important issues facing their communities, conducting non partisan voter registration drives and carrying out nonpartisan Get-Out-The-Vote efforts geared to underrepresented populations.

There’s no “right” participant for VAPLP. Our cohorts are intentionally multi-racial, multi-generational, across class and experiences. What matters most is a willingness to engage fully with the program and your pod members.

Our application and interview process is designed to help us understand how you think, how you engage with others, and how you hope to grow alongside a cohort committed to collective liberation and justice. Swipe to learn more about the qualities we look for in participants.

📣 RFP Opportunity: BIPOC Affinity Table Facilitator

The Virginia Civic Engagement Table is seeking a facilitator to help design and lead a new BIPOC Affinity Table—a space for Black, Indigenous, and people of color working in social change organizations across Virginia to connect, reflect, and build community.

This pilot will center collective care, peer learning, and relationship-building through monthly gatherings over a 10-month period.
