Today marks the close of the 2025 Kentucky Farm Bureau Annual Meeting, and it also concludes my term as District 8 Chairman of the Young Farmers Advisory Committee. I’ve been away all week representing our district at this conference, and it has once again reminded me how important strong, experienced leadership is for the future of Kentucky.

Serving in this role has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I cannot fully express the gratitude I feel for everyone who has supported, advised, and collaborated with me along the way.

During my tenure, we achieved real, measurable progress. The policy and legislative changes we advanced didn’t just strengthen Kentucky agriculture—they strengthened communities across the entire Commonwealth. We delivered results that benefit working families, small businesses, and the future of rural Kentucky.

Now, I’m asking for your support in my run for State Representative of District 81. Choose the candidate who has already proven they can get things done for you and your family—not someone who only talks about it. Together, we can continue building a stronger, more prosperous Kentucky.

Vote Andrew Simpson for KY-81. Let’s keep moving forward.

Last night marked the official kickoff of our campaign for State Representative in Kentucky’s 81st District — and what an incredible night it was!

We are deeply grateful for every single one of you who came out to support this movement. Whether you showed up, spoke, volunteered, or donated, you are the driving force behind this campaign. We cannot win this race without you, and we are truly blessed to have such a strong, passionate community standing with us.

A special thank-you to The Bull for hosting our event and to the talented Jennifer Combs for capturing the moments you’ll see in the photos following this post.

To my family — whether you cooked, cleaned, organized, donated, or simply offered words of encouragement — I cannot express how much your support means to me. I love you all, and I am grateful beyond words.

Together, we can bring strong leadership, common-sense solutions, and a renewed voice for the people of District 81 to Frankfort.

Let’s win this — together.

For the last week after our Farm City Banquet I have done a tremendous amount of research into the 2022 census and here are my findings:

Madison County is facing a serious challenge: we rank 3rd in Kentucky for farmland lost between 2017 and 2022, with a 17% drop in farm acreage. This isn’t just about land—it’s about our economy, our jobs, and our way of life.

Agriculture generated over $63 million here in Madison county last year, and what many don’t realize is that farmers primarily spend that money locally—at farm stores, dealerships, mechanics, and even local shops—supporting families and small businesses across our community.

With rapid population growth and development, farmland is disappearing fast. While growth can be positive, we need smart growth—not growth for growth’s sake. We must balance new housing developments with protecting the farms that sustain us.

If current trends continue, Madison County could lose up to 30% of its farmland by 2027. That means fewer farms, less local food production, and a weakened agricultural economy.

That’s why I’m committed to commonsense solutions that protect farmland without heavy-handed government mandates:

Expanding successful programs like conservation easements and agricultural districts to help more farmers.

Offering incentives like tax breaks and grants to reward farmers who keep their land productive.

Supporting beginning and young farmers to carry on our agricultural legacy.

Pushing for smart infrastructure planning that focuses growth in the right places—protecting farmland and building sustainable communities.

Strengthening right-to-farm protections so farmers can operate without fear of nuisance lawsuits.

Promoting education and collaboration among farmers, landowners, developers, and officials to find balanced solutions.

Respecting private property rights by encouraging stewardship rather than imposing burdens.

Our farms are part of who we are. It’s time to act now, protecting our farmland, supporting our farmers, and ensuring Madison County remains a thriving, balanced community.

Last night we had the privilege of attending Night for Life with Affirm, and it was nothing short of inspiring. The room was filled with voices and stories that reminded us of the deep, sacred value of every single life. It was a night that reaffirmed a simple truth: hope is not political, and saving lives should never be divided by party lines.

One of the most powerful moments came from hearing Monica Kelsey share her journey. As the founder of the Baby Box initiative now found in fire stations across the country, she has created a lifeline for the most vulnerable. These boxes have protected and saved countless newborns—each one welcomed into a loving forever home. With her 396th box now opened, Monica continues to expand this mission with unwavering determination. It’s hard to understand how anyone could stand against such a profoundly compassionate effort, because nothing—absolutely nothing—is political about giving a newborn a chance at life.

We were also deeply moved by the heartfelt testimony of Richmond local Kendall Bailey. Her story reached into the hearts of everyone present, reminding us that behind every life saved, there is a ripple of hope that stretches far beyond what we can see.

But the words that lingered longest came from the organization’s chairman:
“What you give is measurable, but the impact is immeasurable.”

It was a powerful reminder that the smallest act of care, the smallest decision to protect, can change the course of a life forever.

Over 350 people gathered last night—each one a witness to the truth that compassion is contagious, and that when a community stands up for life, lives are changed in ways we may never fully understand.

Today, we honor all who have served — not only those who wore the uniform in the past, but also the men and women serving our nation today. I encourage everyone to take a moment to reach out: call, text, or thank a veteran in person. A simple handshake or a “welcome home” can mean more than we realize.

Let us never forget that the freedoms we enjoy were secured by the courage and sacrifice of those who answered the call to serve.

To the veterans in my family and across our communities — thank you for your dedication, your bravery, and your service.

And to the United States Marine Corps — happy belated 250th birthday. Semper Fi!

Yesterday was Hat Day at Rocky’s school, and guess which hat he wanted to wear? His Andrew Simpson for KY 81st hat! 🇺🇸

This right here is what it’s all about — families talking about faith, freedom, and the future of Kentucky. Even though Rocky can’t vote yet, his parents are teaching him the importance of civic engagement and conservative values early on.

Thank you, Rocky, for proudly showing your support! Together, we’re building a stronger Kentucky for the next generation.
