📣✨ BAY AREA : STAND UP. ✨📣

Who is up next to close this gap? Let’s save lives together.

On Friday, Dec. 26th • 9AM–3PM, The K. Stewart Foundation + TRK Events are hosting our FIRST-EVER Pride + Purpose Blood Drive + Sickle Cell Testing. We’re calling on everyone to pull up with purpose in honor of Ja’Lani Leaks, 10 year-old sickle cell warrior.

➡️ REGISTER NOW:

WHY THIS MATTERS:

Black families face the highest rates of sickle cell disease, but we’re the least represented in the national blood supply. YOUR donation could literally save the life of a child, a parent, an elder, or someone in the middle of a injury or illness crisis.

Your goal: Show up. Bring a friend. Save a life. All are welcome.

🎶 Live DJ
📸 Pride + Purpose photo moments
🧃 Snacks + giveaways
🩸 Free sickle cell trait testing
💛 Family-friendly, community-powered

Let’s show The Bay what happens when community + culture + care come together.
Let’s make history.
Let’s give life this holiday season.

Thank you to our Blood Drive Champion:

West Contra Costa Unified, Pinole approve ‘ICE-free zones’

The West Contra Costa Unified School District and the city of Pinole have approved measures to become the Bay Area’s second and third “ICE-free zones” that prohibit agents from staging on public property, the Mercury News reported.

“You belong here, and you deserve to feel safe,” said Pinole Councilmember Cameron Sasai in a statement, according to the Mercury News. “People cannot thrive when they are living in a state of constant fear.”

Pinole’s City Council voted on Dec. 16, followed a day later by the WCCUSD during its board meeting.

Such measures, which Alameda County, Berkeley and San Francisco have also begun to consider, are inspired by Chicago’s ICE-free zones. The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors was the first jurisdiction in the Bay Area to adopt similar restrictions, the newspaper reported.
