Numerous roads on the east side of Ridgewood will be closed to traffic between 6:00 am and 2:00 pm. Areas impacted will include East Glen Avenue, Linwood Avenue and East Ridgewood Avenue. Please use Grove Street or Racetrack Road as alternate routes during the event.

Police officers will be stationed throughout the race course and will assist drivers if needed. Please follow all parking regulations, including posted temporary “No Parking” signs.

We look forward to another successful Ridgewood Run and wish all participants the best of luck!

Today’s episode of Bicycle Junction features Sergeant Mormino and Officer Amoruso as they discuss the dangers of unsafe E-bike riding and the importance of making smart decisions while on the road.

Using a crashed e-bike as a real-life example, Sgt. Mormino and Officer Amoruso explain how excessive speed, lack of awareness, and failure to follow traffic laws can quickly lead to serious accidents. While this particular rider was fortunate to suffer only minor injuries, the officers remind viewers that the next crash may not end the same way.

The episode also highlights the importance of wearing a helmet, slowing down, staying alert, and never assuming drivers can see you. E-bikes are faster and heavier than traditional bicycles, making safety and responsibility even more important for every rider.

As Bicycle Junction continues through Ridgewood, our goal remains educating riders and helping keep our community safe through awareness, smart riding habits, and positive community engagement.

“Ride smart. See you at Bicycle Junction.”

While we often celebrate and recognize positive accomplishments and our progress here in the Village, we also need to be prepared for the worst. Today, the Ridgewood Police Department held an active shooter tabletop exercise with members of the RPD, the RFD, OEM, Village staff, and the Ridgewood Public Schools. Planning, scenarios, incident command, communications, and information sharing were all discussed.
