We are incredibly proud of our very own GHS student and children’s book author, Edie Faith, along with her mother and co author, Nubia Garza, on this very special book recognition.

It was truly an esteemed honor to welcome Congressman Henry Cuellar, who made a special visit to recognize Edie Faith with a Congressional Recognition and proudly named her Congress Young Lady of the Day. This remarkable achievement is a true reflection of Edie Faith’s talent, dedication, and inspiring accomplishments as a young author.

It was a wonderful and memorable event, and we are sincerely thankful to everyone who attended and helped make this day so meaningful and special. On behalf of our GHS Principal, Mrs. Thelma Martinez, along with our students and staff, we would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our RGCGISD esteemed board members and all those who contributed to this prestigious afternoon.

A very special thank you to Congressman Henry Cuellar and his staff for taking the time to visit and honor Edie Faith in such an extraordinary way. This month, we proudly celebrate the incredible RGCGISD librarians and library staff who make a lasting impact on our students and community every single day.

Our library teams are truly the heart of our schools- from fostering a love of reading to guiding research, supporting digital literacy, and creating welcoming spaces for learning and growth. Their dedication, creativity, and passion help shape lifelong learners and open doors to endless possibilities.

These individuals wear many hats—educators, tech wizards, reading advocates, and so much more—all while fostering a love for learning in our students. They truly are the heart of our libraries!
