Live music, anyone?

Check out shows coming up 🎶

Trade & Post is a locally owned record shop, bottle shop, and live music venue all rolled into one. Flip through a curated vinyl selection, grab a craft beer or natural wine, and stick around for a show. The lineup leans indie — featuring local, regional, and national touring talent — and the space feels equal parts listening room and laid-back gathering spot. It’s a cultural anchor for the town of Del Norte and one of the best places to catch live music in the San Luis Valley.

DID YOU KNOW?.... that Del Norte Colorado has an Ancient VOLCANO in our Front Yard? It's a Fact!
Del Norte Colorado is often referred to as the “Gateway to the San Juans.” In days of old, the town was an outfitting and supply center for the many gold and silver mines throughout the region. Initially founded to supply the Summitville mines, Del Norte grew to support the numerous mines that developed throughout the western San Juans. Today, Del Norte is a quiet, scenic, and pleasant rural town nestled within an erosional break in the San Juan Mountain front, formed by the Rio Grande.

Del Norte is located on the eastern edge of the extensive San Juan volcanic field, which along with the associated base and precious-metal veins and deposits, is a classic example of large-volume continental volcanism and ore deposits. These volcanics have been heavily studied and mapped from the 1890’s to present by geologists from the U.S. Geological Survey as well as professors and graduate students alike.

Regional Geology of San Juan Mountains
The San Juan Mountains are the largest erosional remnant of a composite volcanic system that covered much of the southern Rocky Mountains in the middle Tertiary Period (35 to 2.6 million years ago). The San Juan volcanic field consists of intermediate-composition lavas, breccias (angular fragmented lava rock composed of pyroclastic flows and air-fall rock) and associated mud flows that erupted some 35 to 30 million years ago from numerous, scattered volcanoes. Between 30 and 25 million years ago, these volcanic deposits were repeatedly overlain by huge, voluminous ash-flow sheets that erupted from many calderas throughout the region. This volcanic field covers an area of about 5000 square miles and is virtually in our front yard!
