Jatukik Providence Foundation

Jatukik Providence Foundation Smart and Sustainable Solutions for African Communities. The Jatukik Providence Foundation was created in 1999 in response to the growing violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo that displaced thousands of families and led to an overwhelming population of orphaned children.

As a native of the country, Fr. Jean-Claude Atasameso was dedicated to creating opportunities for his fellow citizens and began the organization by delivering medical equipment and supplies to local hospitals and clinics. In 2004, he partnered with the late Patricia Schubert to prevent the closure of several orphanages and expand humanitarian projects overseas to the U.S. and Haiti. With the mission of educating and empowering the people to build their own pathways out of poverty, the Foundation prioritizes education and employment as long-term development strategies for the Congo. JPF oversees 500 children in two orphanages, ensuring they receive adequate food, health care and schooling. In 2004, the Foundation worked with indigenous communities to build a pioneering sustainable village in the city of Kibeti. The city is comprised of 13 villages where JPF has worked with the people to elect community leaders, organize agricultural efforts and create health programs. JPF also built a Job Training Center in Kinshasa that provides affordable courses in reading, writing, languages, computer training and vocational skills. With its beginnings in delivering medical supplies, the organization has progressed to building medical clinics and hospitals that work with Congolese physicians and deploy volunteers to meet the country’s growing medical needs. JPF is committed to permanent solutions by providing the Congolese people with the necessary tools to advance their communities.

Mission: Our mission is to empower Congolese people to build better lives for themselves and better futures for their communities.
