Today, at the Memorial Day Ceremony at Riverside National Cemetery, we were honored by the presence of the Gold Star Daughters of Hero Sgt. John Tangor, USMC. Their grace and strength remind us of the profound sacrifices made not only by our fallen service members but also by the families who carry their legacy forward.
On this day of remembrance, we pay tribute to Sgt. Tangor and all who gave their lives in defense of our nation. May we never forget their courage, their service, and the loved ones who continue to honor their memory.

The NCA remains the model of excellence for the burial and memorials for our Nation's Veterand and their families with a 98% on the American Customer Satisfaction Index for 2025. This is the HIGHEST public and private ACSI Score in the Nation for 24 years running.

VA's National Cemetery Administration earned the highest customer satisfaction score ever achieved by any public or private organization measured by the American Customer Satisfaction Index, as part of the group’s 2025 report.

Cemetery Administrative Specialist Training at Riverside National Cemetery
Riverside National Cemetery was honored to host the latest Cemetery Administrative Specialist (CAS) Training, bringing together dedicated professionals from across the National Cemetery Administration. This program equips Cemetery Administrative Specialists with the essential knowledge and skills needed to support NCA’s mission of honoring our Nation’s Veterans with dignity, respect, and the highest standards of service.
This session welcomed outstanding participants from:

• Fort Custer National Cemetery
• Great Lakes National Cemetery
• Los Angeles National Cemetery
• National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona
• Riverside National Cemetery
• San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery

Throughout the week, students engaged in hands‑on learning focused on eligibility, customer service, committal service procedures, records management, and the critical role CAS professionals play in upholding National Shrine Standards.

Heavy Equipment Operators Course Completion – Riverside National Cemetery
Riverside National Cemetery proudly hosted the latest Heavy Equipment Operators Course, bringing together an exceptional group of Engineering Equipment Operators from across the National Cemetery Administration. Over the course of the training, operators strengthened their skills, expanded technical proficiency, and reinforced NCA’s commitment to safety, precision, and operational excellence.
This multi‑cemetery collaboration included dedicated professionals from:

On May 2, 2026, Riverside National Cemetery hosted the formal dedication of the American Indian Veterans Memorial—an historic event recognizing the enduring service, sacrifice, and warrior traditions of American Indian and Alaska Native Veterans. Three days ago, leaders, Veterans, Tribal representatives, and community members gathered to honor generations of Indigenous service members whose contributions have shaped our nation’s history.
It was a privilege to host this momentous occasion and to help commemorate the long‑awaited unveiling of this memorial.

Join us in honoring generations of American Indian and Alaska Native service members at the Dedication of the American Indian Veterans Memorial on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Riverside National Cemetery.

• 12:15 PM – 2:30 PM: Procession to the Plaza of the American Indian Veterans Memorial, followed by Bird Singing, Dancing, and Cultural Activities
