Riverside County District Attorney's Office The Riverside County DA's Office is the prosecutorial agency for Riverside County.

The DA's Office, comprised of about 700 attorneys and support staff, serves the estimated 2.4 million residents across the vast 7,200 square miles that make up Riverside County -- the 10th largest county in the United States. We file, on average, more than 60,000 criminal cases each year and are one of the largest DA's offices in the state.

Salary: $46,780.11 - $69,586.57 Annually

Our office is recruiting for a Victim/Witness Claims Technician in the Division of Victim Services to support our Indio location!

In this role, you’ll assist victims and witnesses with applying for compensation reimbursement for medical costs, loss of income, and other crime-related expenses through the California Victims Compensation Board.

Our law school summer externs recently facilitated a lunchtime Q&A for DA College Academy participants, sharing practical insight on the LSAT, law school admissions, choosing the right program, and what to expect on the journey to becoming an attorney.

By connecting future legal professionals with peers who were recently in their shoes and just within reach of their goals, career aspirations become attainable opportunities!

For more than a decade, Mike Hestrin, Riverside County District Attorney's vision of preventing crime through education and community engagement has been the driving force behind our Crime Prevention Unit (CPU).

By partnering with our Division of Victim Services and the Safe Family Justice Centers to come alongside schools, families, businesses, and community organizations, the unit equips Riverside County youth with the tools to recognize risks, make informed choices, and help create safer neighborhoods.

We’re proud to recognize Estera Boca as the winner of today's 19th Annual Closing Argument Competition for our summer law externs!

During our 10-week summer externship program, Estera, who recently completed her first year of law school at Chapman University Fowler School of Law, and 38 of her fellow externs took part in a week-long competition, delivering compelling closing arguments in a mock domestic violence case.

Congratulations to Estera on this outstanding achievement, and to all of our externs who participated!

Today, Savanna Michelle Carlos, 23, was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. A jury convicted her of second-degree murder for supplying the lethal fentanyl that caused the death of 27-year-old Jesse Jimenez.

Months before the fatal poisoning, Carlos was present at another individual’s fentanyl poisoning, performed CPR on the victim, and was warned by law enforcement about the deadly dangers of fentanyl. Despite that warning, she continued selling fentanyl, including the sale that resulted in the victim's death. Evidence further showed she continued selling the illicit drug after learning of Jesse's death.

His family was present at sentencing and shared how they have been impacted by the loss of their loved one.

This case was prosecuted by DDA Seth DuMouchel.
