What a great day at Touch a Truck! 🚜🚓🚒

Last week, families from across our community came together for another fun-filled Touch a Truck event. Kids had the opportunity to explore a variety of vehicles, meet the people who operate them every day, and climb inside some of their favorites!

A huge thank you to the Hazel Mackin Community Library for organizing this fantastic event. Our library does so much for our community, creating opportunities for families to connect, learn, and make lasting memories. We're grateful for all they do throughout the year!

We'd also like to thank our Police Department, Fire Department, Public Works, and all of the organizations and volunteers who helped make the day such a success.

Thank you to everyone who came out—we loved seeing so many smiling faces and can't wait to do it again next year! 💙🚛👷‍♀️👮‍♂️🚒

🌊 Make a difference for Wisconsin's waters! 🌿

Join us for Snapshot Day on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM at Warren Park in Roberts!

Be part of a statewide effort to search for aquatic invasive species and help protect our rivers, lakes, and wetlands. No experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and willingness to help! Volunteers ages 8 and up are welcome.

🔐 PAWS: Think Twice Before You Click! 🐾

June is Internet Safety Month, and we're joining the national effort to help keep children and teens safe online. This year, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program is highlighting the PAWS: Think Twice! message:

🐾 P – Private Info Stays Private
🐾 A – Alert a Trusted Adult
🐾 W – Walk Away from Uncomfortable Situations
🐾 S – Screen Your Friends

With online gaming, social media, and digital communication playing a larger role in our children's lives, it's more important than ever to have conversations about online safety. Take a few minutes today to talk with the young people in your life about protecting their personal information, recognizing warning signs, and knowing when to ask for help.

🦢💙 A huge thank you to Officer Adams, Aaron and Tyler from Public Works, and Zach from ZB Repair for helping reunite the baby swans with their parents on Monday! 🙌

The baby swans were unable to get over the train track rails and became separated from their family. Thanks to your teamwork 🤝, kindness ❤️, and willingness to help 🌟, the swans were safely reunited with their parents. 🦢👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Your efforts and care for local wildlife are greatly appreciated. Thank you for making a difference in our community! 👏😊💙

REMINDER:

Olson Sanitation picks up on ALL holidays, so there will be NO delay this week! Garbage pickup for everyone will be on Friday, and it is also GREEN WEEK recycling pickup! ♻️

Please make sure your garbage and recycling cans are out Friday morning!

We are asking all residents, builders, contractors, and businesses to immediately stop dumping materials at the site of the future Rolling Meadows Park. This area is not a dumping location, and illegal dumping is considered littering under village ordinance.

The continued dumping of cement slabs, brush, construction debris, and other materials is delaying progress on the development of Rolling Meadows Park for our community.

Please see the pictures below of materials that are being illegally dumped and contributing to delays in the project.

Please be advised that the Village does have a littering ordinance, and the Police Department has been notified of the ongoing situation and will be monitoring the area.

Village Ordinance Sec. 34-11 – Littering states:

“No person shall throw any glass, refuse, waste, filth or other litter upon the streets, alleys, highways, public parks or other property of the village or upon any private property or upon the surface of any body of water within the village.”

(Code 1980, § 9.10)

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping keep this area clean and allowing the Rolling Meadows Park project to move forward without further delays.

We are so thankful for our Public Works crew — not just during Public Works Week, but every single day! 🚧🛻

Chris, Aaron, Tyler, Tim, and Glenn work hard behind the scenes to keep our community running smoothly and looking its best through every season. From reading meters, plowing snow, mowing, cleaning up the parks, and helping keep the Village looking beautiful, they are always hard at work serving our community.

We are lucky to work alongside such an amazing team, and they make every day fun with their hard work, teamwork, and fun personalities. Thank you for everything you do for the Village of Roberts and everyone who calls it home! 👏
