🌿 Pollen levels are currently moderate to high, and allergy symptoms may be worse for many people. While pollen is often highest during warmer months, some plants release pollen year-round.

Climate change can lead to longer pollen seasons and more pollen in the air, increasing the risk of allergy symptoms like:
• Sneezing
• Runny nose
• Congestion
• Itchy eyes

If you suffer from seasonal allergies, try to limit outdoor exposure on high pollen days and keep windows closed when possible. 🤧

💦 Stay Healthy Around Water This Summer 💦

Swimming is fun, but germs in pools, splash pads, lakes, rivers, hot tubs, and oceans can make you sick if contaminated water is swallowed.

🦠 Germs that can spread in water include:
• Cryptosporidium (Crypto)
• Giardia
• Shigella
• Norovirus
• E. coli O157

⚠️ Important things to know:
• Swallowing even a small amount of contaminated water can cause diarrhea
• Germs can enter the water through diarrhea accidents or small amounts of p**p on swimmers’ bodies
• Chlorine helps kill germs, but it does NOT kill them instantly
• Some germs, like Crypto, can survive in properly chlorinated water for more than 7 days

✅ Help keep everyone safe:
• Don’t swim if you have diarrhea
• Avoid swallowing pool or lake water
• Take kids on regular bathroom breaks
• Shower before getting in the water
• Wash hands after using the bathroom or changing diapers

Healthy swimming helps protect everyone!

🌡️ As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heat-related illness. Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, stay hydrated, take breaks in cool areas, and never ignore symptoms like dizziness, nausea, confusion, or heavy sweating. Stay safe and check on loved ones during extreme heat ☀️💧

Spending time outdoors is a great way to stay active and support your mental well-being, but it’s important to protect your skin while enjoying the sun☀️

Too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can increase your risk of skin cancer. UV rays come from the sun and can damage your skin — even when it’s cloudy or cool outside.

Keep in mind:
• UV rays can reflect off water, pavement, sand, and snow
• UV rays are usually strongest between 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
• Sun protection matters year-round, not just in summer

Check the daily UV Index in your area. If it’s 3 or higher, take steps to protect your skin by using sunscreen, wearing protective clothing, and seeking shade when possible.
