New Yorkers need relief from high utility bills not a hidden tax!

The New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) was created to ensure consumers are protected from utility companies' ability to monopolize markets and price residents out of the state through excessive utility costs. However, instead of putting consumers first, the PSC has repeatedly approved aid packages and rate increases that continue benefiting powerful utility companies while offering little to no meaningful relief for everyday customers.

Our power grid infrastructure remains in poor condition across the state. Yet despite these ongoing problems, the PSC approved a staggering $680 million aid package for utility companies last year and recently approved a so-called "temporary" rate increase for RGE, with no clear or defined end in sight.

This is unacceptable.

New Yorkers are already struggling under rising costs, and taxpayers should not be repeatedly asked to foot the bill while utility companies continue earning profits and passing additional costs onto consumers. The state needs stronger oversight and greater transparency regarding how taxpayer dollars are allocated to utility companies. Major aid packages and rate increases should require review and approval from the State Assembly and Senate, not be handed out with limited accountability.

I support stronger regulations on utility price increases, stricter oversight of public funds, and consumer protections that put residents before corporate interests. We should prioritize affordability, infrastructure improvements, and accountability over policies that continue shifting the burden onto hardworking New Yorkers.

This is becoming a double tax on state residents, and it's time we put consumers ahead of big utility interests.

For generations, too many families in our community have been told to wait their turn while our children’s futures hang in the balance. I believe the time for waiting is over.

Community First means fighting for solutions that impact people right now, especially when it comes to education. School choice is not about politics for me; it’s about possibility. It’s about ensuring every child, in every zip code, has access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment where they can thrive.

When families are empowered, communities grow stronger. When children are given opportunities, hope is restored. And when we prioritize localized accountability, we begin building a future that truly belongs to the people.

This is bigger than one election. This is a generational issue. The decisions we make today will shape the lives of our children and grandchildren tomorrow.

I’m running because I believe Rochester deserves bold leadership, real solutions, and a future where no child is left behind.

Our Community. Our Children. Our Choice.
