Wyoming State Trails Program Encourages Riders to Prepare for Winter Season ❄️
Snowmobile season arrives quickly across Wyoming, and riders are encouraged to prepare early by purchasing required user fee decals and reviewing safety information before heading out on the trails.
Decals are available now at wyotrails.onewyo.gov/wyotrails. Riders can have their sticker mailed or pick it up in person at one of several authorized selling agent locations statewide.
👉 Resident decals: $50
👉 Nonresident decals: $75
👉 Commercial permits: $150 (available at the State Trails Field Office in Lander)
Under legislation approved during the 2025 session, updated snowmobile user fees help fund grooming, signage, equipment maintenance, and trailhead facilities — supporting more than 2,000 miles of designated snowmobile trails across Wyoming.
The Wyoming State Trails Program reminds riders to enjoy the season responsibly by following key safety and courtesy guidelines:
🗺 Know your route, weather, and terrain before heading out.
🧤 Dress appropriately for cold and changing conditions.
⚠️ Obey on-the-ground signage and obtain maps of riding areas to ensure you avoid any closures that could affect wilderness designations, critical wildlife winter range, or private property.
Trail maps are available for download at wyotrails.com or in print at selling agent locations and visitor centers statewide.
