This is one of the reasons I ran for office. Borough officials approved an unheard-of $25,000 raise for one employee—a raise they themselves described as unsolicited—while other hardworking Borough employees were overlooked. At the same time, the Department of Public Works, whose employees work every day to keep our community running, was allowed to go months without a contract.

ROCKAWAY- During their Thursday, Aug. 13 meeting, Rockaway Borough council members addressed high employee turnover in the borough and proposed solutions for employee retention.
