~Prosecutor’s Office Secures 8 Year Executed Sentence For M**h Dealer from Perry County~

(Rockport, IN) — On May 19, 2026, in the Spencer County Circuit Court, Avery Northerner of Perry County, IN was sentenced by the Court to a term of eight (8) years executed for Dealing in M**hamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony. The sentence structure included four (4) years executed at the Indiana Department of Correction followed by three (3) years executed on Community Corrections Work Release followed by one (1) year executed on Electronic Home Detention.

Northerner entered a Plea Agreement with the State on March 12, 2026 with the Court to determine the placement of the sentence at hearing. At sentencing, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Eric Tempel presented argument to the Court to secure executed terms for the entirety of the sentence.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Eric Tempel stated, “The weight Northerner possessed for delivery between one (1) gram and five (5) grams was determinative of the offense level prosecuted here in Spencer County. Our Legislature has recognized the severity and effects M**hamphetamine generates in society resulting in the enactment of laws deeming even fairly low amounts of M**hamphetamine distribution to be quite serious; our office pursues these offenses with an equal fervor and recognition. M**hamphetamine poisons our community and individuals engaging in transactions of this substance for profit will be held to account.”
Prosecutor Megan Bennet added, “As the result of a multi-agency police investigation termed Operation Snow White, Northerner also faces more serious allegations of transacting greater weight of M**hamphetamine in adjacent Dubois County. Interdiction in our jurisdiction by the Indiana State Police in this instance is another example of great police work to halt regional sources in their tracks before damage to our communities can be accomplished.”

All Defendants are innocent until proven guilty in the Court of Law.

~Perry County Woman Agrees to 8 Year Sentence for Dealing in M**hamphetamine~

(Rockport, IN) — On March 12, 2026, in the Spencer County Circuit Court, 37 year old Avery Northerner of Perry County, IN pled guilty to Dealing in M**hamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony.

The matter originated in October of last year during a traffic stop initiated by Indiana State Police Trooper Connor Giesler. Northerner, a passenger in the vehicle, was verified to have an active felony warrant for Fraud from Perry County. Due to suspicious circumstances the Troopers deployed a trained K-9 partner during the investigation resulting in indication of the presence of the odor of narcotics emitting from the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, Troopers located two separate bags of M**hamphetamine as well as a digital scale in concealed compartments. After being confronted, Northerner admitted she possessed the items and that “she was getting rid of some [M**h] for someone.”

Northerner pled guilty pursuant to an agreement with the State for a fixed term of eight (8) years with the Spencer Circuit Court to determine placement after considering arguments from the Parties. Under Indiana law, a Level 4 Felony carries a possible penalty range of two (2) to twelve (12) years, with an advisory sentence of six (6) years per statute.

Northerner also faces pending charges in Dubois County involving two counts of Dealing in M**hamphetamine, as Level 3 Felonies, which recently arose from a multi-agency dragnet investigation termed “Operation Snow White” by authorities. All Defendants are innocent until proven guilty in the Court of Law.

~Intimidation with an Imitation Handgun Results in Over 10 Years for Dubois County Man and Woman~

(Rockport, IN) — On May 28, 2026 in the Spencer County Circuit Court, 31 year old Adrian R. Myers pled guilty to Aiding, Inducing, or Causing Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 Felony. On February 19, 2026, 59 year old Carl F. Young was sentenced for the offense of Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 Felony.

The married duo from Huntingburg, Indiana began executing their planned intimidation of the victim in July 2025 after Myers corresponded with an individual facing narcotic related charges who was detained in the Dubois County Security Center (DCSC). As a result of that conversation, Young and Myers traveled to Birdseye, Indiana and ensnared the victim into their vehicle with a fabricated request for the victim’s assistance in retrieving autoparts at an Evansville salvage yard. While allegedly enroute in their blue 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, Young and Myers took a detour from the stated itinerary to a remote agricultural field outside Gentryville, Indiana.

Once at the location, Young issued threats of serious harm to the victim while brandishing a black revolver style BB gun which had been altered to imitate a real firearm. During that time, Myers secured the victim’s cellular device and searched it for information. Upon locating the absence of any messages the couple deemed valuable, the victim was returned to be dropped off in Birdseye.

After authorities were notified of the incident, Detective Logan Jones with the Jasper Police Department led the investigation. Detective Jones secured surveillance videos from the Birdseye Library, a gas station in Ferdinand, as well as a local business in Gentryville which all captured the Silverado’s travel and corroborated the victim’s timeline of the events. After obtaining a Search Warrant, Detective Jones and fellow law enforcement located a “revolver” matching the description provided by the victim at the couples residence. Detective Jones further gained valuable investigative knowledge while conducting witness interviews and ultimately located an audio recording from DCSC confirming Myers’ conversation which was the genesis of the intimidation expedition.

Under a plea agreement with the State, Young was sentenced to four and a half (4.5) years executed at the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC). Young received an additional term above that of over two (2) years executed at the IDOC for revocation of another sentence based on the conduct here.
The State and Myers have agreed in exchange for admission to her role in the crime to a term of five (5) years with three (3) years executed at the IDOC followed by one (1) year executed on Electronic Home Detention followed by one (1) year of continuing supervision. Under Indiana law, a Level 5 Felony carries a possible penalty range of one (1) to six (6) years.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Eric Tempel stated “The brazen conduct engaged by Young and Myers was highly dangerous even withstanding the chosen weapon used was factually a replica BB gun. Indiana, like many other jurisdictions, has recognized that an instrument with similarity to an actual firearm presented in this manner qualifies as a ‘deadly weapon’ and appropriately elevates acts of Intimidation like this to a higher level. This experience would be traumatic for anyone, and the Prosecutor’s Office hopes the accountability of these Defendants brings some sense of justice for the victim.”
Prosecutor Megan Bennet added, “The well-developed investigation by Detective Jones was paramount in securing concrete evidence of the crimes committed here. The Spencer County Prosecutor’s Office commends his dedication and cooperation during the prosecution of these matters.”

~Prosecutor’s Office Secures Over 10 Year Prison Term for High Level M**h Dealer~

(Rockport, IN) — On May 27, 2026, in the Spencer County Circuit Court, Bradley N. Graf of Rockport was sentenced for Dealing in M**hamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony, among other charges by the Court to a term of ten and a half (10.5) years executed at the Indiana Department of Correction after hearing argument from the Parties.

Graf entered a Plea Agreement with the State on March 5, 2026 with the Court to determine the placement of the sentence at hearing. At sentencing, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Eric Tempel presented the Court with numerous facets of the case in favor of a fully executed term for the duration of the sentence. Chief Deputy Tempel secured the State’s request while articulating statutory aggravating factors including Graf’s previous criminal history surrounding methamphetamine, fi****ms, and felonious conduct; his pre-trial violations of bond terms during the pendency of the case; and the exceedingly large quantity of M**hamphetamine seized which constituted over ten times the amount proscribed for the offense.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Eric Tempel stated, “The matters addressed in this instance involved extensive amounts of M**hamphetamine in combination with illegal possession of semi-automatic weaponry and forceful resistance of Law Enforcement Officers. This array of conduct presents dangers that inherently demand strict sentencing requirements to ensure safety within our community.” Prosecutor Megan Bennet added, “Law enforcement personnel at the Sheriff’s Department executed the investigation and continued oversight of Mr. Graf throughout this case in an exceptional manner.”

~M**h Dealer Enters Guilty Plea in Exchange for Over Ten Year Sentence~

(Rockport, IN) — On March 5, 2026, in the Spencer County Circuit Court, 56 year old Bradley N. Graf pled guilty as charged to Dealing in M**hamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony; Possession of M**hamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony; Possession of a Firearm by a Domestic Batterer, a Class A Misdemeanor; Two Counts of Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer, as Class A Misdemeanors; and Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor.

The offenses stem from a dispatched report of Graf’s alleged involvement in a situation with a firearm at his residence in late 2023. The Spencer County Sheriff’s Office investigation developed probable cause for issuance of a Search Warrant of the property. During ex*****on of the Search Warrant, law enforcement located numerous fi****ms including a R***r 9mm handgun, digital scales, paraphernalia, and approximately 104 grams of M**hamphetamine inside the home. DNA analysis conducted by the Indiana State Police Laboratory determined Graf’s DNA profile was included as a contributor on the R***r pistol as well as the digital scales previously located with large amounts of M**hamphetamine.

During the pendency of the case, the Court placed Graf on Electronic Home Detention through Community Corrections as a condition of his bond. On October 7, 2025, Community Corrections personnel along with Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a compliance search at Graf’s residence. Deputies located M**hamphetamine and in the course of the encounter Graf became physically combative while forcibly resisting multiple Deputies.

Under the Plea Agreement with the State, Graf agreed to be sentenced to ten and a half (10.5) years with the Court to Determine Placement of the sentence after hearing argument from the parties. Sentencing in this matter is set before the Honorable Judge Jon Dartt on April 22, 2026.
