About Ronald Dippel
Ronald Dippel is a 20 year veteran of law enforcement with the last 16 years working for the Rockton Police Department as a patrol sergeant. Dippel is a recognized police carbine and firearms instructor who's curriculum has been certified through the state of Illinois' Training and Standards Board. He is a FBI trained observer/sniper as well as gang enforcement specialist, che
mical agent instructor, and crisis negotiator. In addition to firearms, he manages the department's asset seizure and forfeiture program and has trained police officers across northern Illinois. Dippel has instructed classes for the Illinois Dare Officer's Association, Northeast Multi Regional Training, Northern Illinois Training Advisory Board, Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, Department of Defense, and portions of his curriculum have been used by the FBI's Regional Training Facility. He holds a Masters Degree in public administration from Concordia University and is a Doctoral Candidate with Columbia Southern University. His memberships include the Illinois Tactical Officers Association, National Tactical Officers Association, and the Illinois Crisis Negotiators Association. Dippel graduated the 230th session of the FBI National Academy and has completed over 1,600 hours of law enforcement training. A Message from Ronald Dippel:
Greetings and thank you for your interest in receiving the training necessary to obtain your Carry Concealed Weapons permit through the State of Illinois. The cost is $100 (due the first day of class) and covers instruction for both days to include copies of training information (paper), digital copies (CD), certificate, and your target(s). The training will cover all aspects of the CCW law to include (but not limited to):
Safe handing of a firearm
Safe storage of a firearm
Loading and Unloading
Cleaning and Maintenance
Lead hazard mitigation
Proper target identification
Low light shooting
Proper use of illumination
Psychological effects of an encounter
Moving and shooting
Actions that should be taken after a use of force incident
Ballistic information and methods of incapacitation
This is an excellent cass for both new and seasonedf shooters and Does Not require you to obtain a CCW upon completion; however, I will provide you with the certificate necessary to apply for a CCW upon successful completion. If you do not have a FOID card you must attend with someone that does. You should bring the following items to class:
Eye and ear protection
At least 100 rounds of ammuniton (DO NOT BRING AMMUNITOIN INTO THE CLASSROOM AT ANY TIME, LEAVE IT IN YOUR CAR)
A wapon of similar type you intend to carry (i.e. revolver or semi-automatic pstol)
cleaning supplies
Rain gear and hat
Pen/ pencil/ highlighter for note taking
Holster of some type in order to secure the weapon while on the range
Case to carry the weapon in
This course will have hourly breaks and a lunch on both days. You may bring food, however, there are plenty of eating opportunities near the training site and ample time will be provided. Class will begin promptly at 0830 and conclude at 1700 hours (8:30am- 5:00pm). Currently, all classes are set to be held in the upstairs of FIBS restaurant located at 105 West Main Street, Rockton, IL. Parking is located on the street or in the municipal parking lots located in the 100 block of South Blackhawk Blvd. or 200 East Main Street. The range is outside at a local quarry meaning we will shoot even in the rain (provided there is no lighting). Currently open classes will be held on
