Today Rockwood Fire at 1128 was call to the Rockwood Road for a reported structure Fire. Rockwood 1 on scene with light smoke coming from the peak of the entire length of the building. Crew pulled a line off tanker 4 and found a cathedral ceiling with fire, showing around a light fixture. After a few minutes of pulling ceilings the fire was under control. Command canceled all other responding towns.

We want to thank Greenville fire and Jackman - Moose River Fire & Rescue Department for their quick response.

I want to thank Greenville Fire and Jackman Fire for their response yesterday and for their help in Tomhegan at a chimney fire. It is always great to have a great working relationship with theses crews.

Tonight the Rockwood officer's went to Clinton Fire Department to present Anthony Barton and off duty career firefighter and volunteer firefighter, the Life Saving Award for his actions on January 24 while in Rockwood. He assisted Rockwood crews with pulling two snowmobilers out of Moose River. Anthony saved lives that day.

On February 1, Jada, girlfriend of Portland Maine Fire Department firefighter and paramedic Alex Wood, was involved in a serious car accident while on her way to work as a paramedic in New Hampshire. She was critically injured and was taken to a hospital in Boston. She has a long road to recovery and we’re asking for your support for her and for Alex.

We had a pickup truck run through a scene tonight just after midnight, just missing one of our members while blocking for a wrecker pulling out an ambulance on the northern road. There is just no excuse for this.

Today at 1205 Rockwood Fire & Rescue was called out for two snowmobilers in Moosehead Lake near sandbar island. On arrival both men were on the ice walking, alive but cold. Both were evaluated by C A Dean ambulance crews.

Updated: the missing snowmobiler has been found safe. No further information!!

Rockwood Fire &Rescue at 228pm today got a call for 3 snowmobiles in the water at the mouth of moose river. Two people in the water with 1 missing. Crews rescued 2 men from the water and the 3rd is still unfortunately is missing. The maine warden service will be sending driver's in tomorrow for a recovery. Thank you to C.A Dean, border patrol crews, and many others for the help. Please stay on the marked trails if you are not familiar with the lake.
