This is an exciting time for the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office. After working closely with the Hawkins County Budget Committee, the Hawkins County Commission, and the Hawkins County Mayor’s Office, a body camera program is being launched.

All patrol officers will be equipped with body cameras, and approximately one-third of our patrol cruisers will have in-car camera systems. We are excited to launch this program, and if funding continues next year, we hope to complete the installation of in-car cameras in all patrol units.

Sergeant Bobby Moffitt, Lieutenant Greg Larkin, Chief Deputy Tony Allen, and Sheriff Ronnie Lawson have worked diligently to make this program a reality. This initiative will enhance officer safety while also helping us obtain critical evidence for the prosecution of cases and for documenting interactions with citizens.

We would like to thank the Hawkins County Commission and the citizens of Hawkins County for their support in making this program possible.
