It was a great Honor to speak on the importance and meaning of Memorial Day at the beginning of the service.
“All gave Some, Some Gave All”
John 15:13
Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Two Crosses, One Truth !
The Fabric of Freedom

“Both Speak of a Cost”
“Both Speak of an Inheritance “

🙏 The Cross at Calvary gave us Jesus Christ to die,and give us life through His resurrection over death, hell and the grave.
Jesus Christ paid the cost for out Inheritance!

🇺🇸 The Battlefield Cross ( Fallen Soldier Battle Cross )

🇺🇸Boots: Placed at the base, they represent the service member’s final march onto the battlefield, and of their demanding journey.
🇺🇸 The Inverted Rifle: Thrust downward into the ground, signifies a break in action to pause for prayer.
If a bayonet is attached and facing down, it also represents that the soldier went down fighting to the end.
🇺🇸 Helmet: Placed on top of the rifle stock, it represents the individual soldier and signifies that their battle is finally over.
🇺🇸Dog Tags: Imprinted with the service member’s name and details, they are hung from the rifle to ensure the fallen soldier is never forgotten.

🙏 Jesus Christ for your sins, and redemption through Faith in Him.
Freedom through Salvation!

🇺🇸 The American Soldier, Soldier’s Cross and the Memorial Day remembrance that men and women have Died for our freedom as a nation.
Freedom as a Nation! Through the sacrifice of over 1.5 million soldiers through all the wars that we have fought as a nation.

Psalm 94: 16
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?
Or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

🇺🇸 Blessings and Grace on our Nation today, as we remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our Freedom .

🇺🇸 When this was my job, serving in the Airborne at Ft. Bragg N.C.
✅Our morning started at 0600 am with a run of 4 to 6 miles a day before work started.
✅Dedication,Determination, Discipline was a way of life.
✅Everyone was dependent on each other, you would make sure the man in front of you and his parachute gear was secured and ready before you boarded a plane to stand up, hook up, and jump out the door, and count to four.
Airborne All The Way!
✅ Service and Dedication to Serve my country was a calling and a long line of family history.
✅Willing to give your life for a cause of making sure our Country remains free and secured.

🇺🇸 As Memorial Day comes up on Monday and today we Honor our Heroes at the Fallen officers Memorial Service at the Old Law Enforcement Center.
Let us remember Freedom is not Free and a Price of precious Soul’s has been given to secure our future for all generations.

Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the Peacemakers: for the shall be called the children of God.
🙏 I always choose the Peace of God, because it brings joy to my soul.
🙏 Grace is sufficient for my every need.
🙏 Redeemed through Jesus Christ (my) our soul can be secured.
🙏 Blessed To be called the children of God!

🇺🇸 Always remember there is a price to be paid for all !
🇺🇸 The American Soldiers, Law Enforcement are willing to give their life for your freedom.
🙏 Jesus Christ gave his life ,that you could have peace and Salvation to your Soul.

🌟 Thankful and Blessed!
I am Honored to be able to serve Rome and Floyd County for over 40 years as a Pastor and 38 years as a Law Enforcement Chaplain.
1 year as a Floyd County Commissioner Post 4.

🌟Loving and caring and Praying for people is commandment that God wants us to do.
In ministering and caring we find peace for our soul.
Thank you Lord for peace that passes man's understanding .

🌟 2 Thoughts:
1)Today I have a dear friend in the hospital that needs our prayers.
Thank you Lord that I had the opportunity even on Election Day to stop and minister to them and pray over them.
2)Last night putting out campaign signs late in the evening.
We were at the Thornton Center at North Floyd Park.
Teresa said there is a guy riding up on a bike.
As he passed by he said "Hi".
Then he turns around and says Preacher Thornton!
I said yes sir to him.
He asked me did I remember him, and his face looked familiar.
The man begins to tell me that he went to church at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He said you lead me to the Lord and I want to say "Thank You."
What a blessing!

🌟I said this to share one more thing with my friends and acquaintances and even someone that might not like me.

🌟Serving the Lord as a Pastor,Chaplain and now Floyd County Commissioner.
It is all about helping others and caring for the hurting and needy.
Trying to be the best that you can be with God's grace and guidance.
That is why the Lord laid it on my heart to run for County Commissioner.
That is why I will always choose to minister and care for people.
Trying to help my community be the best that it can be.

**** Few know David Thornton better than his own family, and Mary Hardin Thornton shares a powerful testament to his strength, faith, and servant’s
heart ****

David Thornton has always been a pillar of strength in the Thornton family. Though he and my husband,Bill ,
are first cousins, we’ve always seen him as more of a brother. After high school, David answered the call to serve, joining the Army before returning home to Floyd County,where his service never stopped.
He has ministered to inmates,athletes, and Law Enforcement, offering unwavering support and daily prayers for those in need.

What truly speaks to his resilience is his dedication as a small business owner. As the daughter and wife of small business owners, I know firsthand the challenges of keeping a business running- meeting payroll, pushing through economic uncertainty, and staying committed through it all.
David has faced those challenges head-on with courage and faith.
