Another great charity golf tournament is in the "bag". The weather was fantastic, warm with a slight breeze throughout the day made for some great golf. The Umpqua Lions want to thank all the sponsors for helping us put on another successful tournament. Also, a big thank you to all the businesses and individuals who donated prizes for the raffle. but, it would not be a tournament without all the golfers - thank you for helping us provide for the local needs with sight and hearing. All of the above are greatly appreciated by the Umpqua Lions.

What a great day for golf and giving back to the community. It was a little chilly to start, but it warmed up and the rain stayed away. We had 30 teams (a record) and the tournament went off without a snag. Keith Oliver was the lucky golfer who got to shoot for the $1,000,000 hole in one, but it was not to be on this day. No one won the other hole-in-ones either, but a good time was had by all with many different partcipants winning great raffle items and enjoying Jack's Famous ribs, baked beans, potato salad, dinner rolls and ice cream and brownies for desert. Thanks to our Tournament Sponsors, Douglas County Forest Products, Good Vibrations, Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline, Crystal Creek Quality Meats and Columbia Distributing and our Major Sponsors, G. Stiles Realty, Brook Communications, Diamond Lake Resort, Mark Bierman Mobile Slaughter, The News-Review, Core, Gary Stevens Farmers' Insurance, Randy Butler Construction, Blac N Bleu Bistro, Cascade Community Credit Union, Roseburg Forest Producats, Pacific Golf and Turf and The Cow Creek Band of the Umpqua Tribe of Indians. And also all our tee sponsors and those who donated prizes for our raffle. And most of all, thanks to all our golfers who again made this tournament one of the best in the area.
