Everybody who comes to MCREST has a story. Usually, it’s a story of great hardship and traumatic loss--the loss of jobs, homes, family members. In Tucson, a support group is helping vulnerable young people deal with loss and challenges like homelessness.

“It’s very difficult for them to process grief with all the other things they have going on,” in some cases including things like poverty, homelessness and addiction.

MCREST partners with Community First Health Center to provide low- or no-cost primary, preventative and emergency dental, and behavioral health care for our guests, continuing throughout COVID-19. Zimbabwe native experiencing homelessness in San Antonio connects with family after years away

MCREST case managers develop personalized housing plans with each guest that address barriers to self-reliance that cause homelessness, including chronic homelessness. This inspiring story of a man who was reunited with his family after years away, years in which he experienced homelessness, illustrates a few of the reasons that people become chronically homeless.

Christian Assistance Ministry is working to help Neville get back to Zimbabwe to be with his family.

thank you Angela.for what you did for me.and all of you.
Hello everyone, with everything that is going on out there in our society at this time and the uncertainties we are all facing, I would like to post something positive and hope it can inspire someone that may be struggling out there now. I was in the Mcrest program from Sep.6, 2018 - March 27, 2019. During this time I was able to enroll in a Robotics Technician program through the help there of a wonderful lady who works at Mcrest, Miworks, and Macomb Community College that lasted 4 months receiving my certifications in late Jan. 2019. Even though it took longer than I was hoping for I found employment after this as I had been unemployed when I entered the program and schooling was 40 hours a week M-F during most of my time within the program. Mcrest worked with me throughout this time with encouragement and positive reinforcement. I am still employed with this company today and doing well financially also, which I certainly couldn't say before I entered this program. Today March 28, 2020 marks my one year anniversary of having my own place of residence here in St. Clair Shores. They also helped me financially to be able to do this. All of the personnel there were wonderful with helping me throughout my stay with them and much of my success now wouldn't have been possible without them. In conclusion I would just like to say something hopefully encouraging to someone that may be in the program now. It won't be easy, believe me I know this from my own experiences there but if you truly stay positive and remain focused on the goals you wish to succeed in you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. You have to push yourself to succeed though no matter what obstacles you face, believe me I had many throughout this time. Thank you to each and everyone within the Mcrest program many of which I personally got to know well. God bless you all there. ❤️ Signed, Robert Moceri March 28, 2020
Our ministry is trying to help one of your guests but we can't seem to get anyone to return a phone call. It's been 2 weeks so far.
Wanna thank McRest for everything. Along with all the Churches Support.
For all those that work with the homeless, God bless you! And all the homeless being served through MCREST, God bless you! Never lose hope for He will see you through as he did me 36 years ago.
William Diamond, serial s*xual predator, whose victims were young boys, has finished his sentence of 35 years in prison. He registered at the Operation Get Down but is NOT there. Last seen at St. John shelter on Kercheval in the worst part of the city that used to be detroit. He is on the loose, report him if you see him. Fred Barnett, who works security at the "church" is also a s*x offender and registered as well. They do not pay him a salary, but let him stay in an adjoining house to the the church. Be careful in this neighborhood.
Please join us at our next fundraiser for MCREST.
