🐾 Is Your Dog Licensed? It's the Law in New York State! 🐾

Summer is here, and unfortunately it's also the time of year when the highest number of dogs become loose or lost.
A current dog license is one of the fastest ways to help your pet get home safely.

📞 If you observe or safely secure a loose dog, please call the Non-Emergency Communications Center immediately at (518) 630-0911.

If your dog is picked up by the Town of Rotterdam Dog Control Officers or the Rotterdam Police Department, a current dog license allows officers to quickly identify your pet and contact you. Without a valid license, your dog will need to be impounded until ownership can be verified, resulting in additional fees and unnecessary stress for your pet.

Don't forget to renew your dog's license every year!

⚠️ A $10 late fee is assessed on overdue licenses.

Dogs that remain more than three months past due result in a violation summons being issued.

To license or renew your dog, please bring:
✔️ Current Rabies Certificate
✔️ Proof of Spay/Neuter (if applicable)
✔️ Completed Dog License Application

This Memorial Day Parade was my first opportunity to walk the route, wave to so many familiar faces, and truly witness our community come together 🇺🇸

But the day was never about me. Memorial Day is about honoring the brave men and women who gave everything for this country and the freedoms we often take for granted. The greatest honor was being able to stand beside and march with Mr. William Frank, our Grand Marshall, and alongside our Gold and Blue Star Mothers, Kim Vandenberg and Rebecca DiCocco. Their strength, sacrifice, and love for this country deserve more respect and recognition than words can ever express.

When you choose to serve or even work in government, showing up for your community is not optional, it is the job. I am not a law maker, but I was elected to serve this community, and I will continue to do exactly that with gratitude and pride, especially for our Veterans.

A sincere thank you to John Polimeni for Rotterdam Town Supervisor for consistently supporting our Veterans not just on Memorial Day, but every day throughout the year. Thank you as well to Elisa and all of our town crews especially RPD who worked behind the scenes to ensure everyone’s safety and help make this event meaningful and successful.

Rotterdam you showed up with pride, respect, and patriotism and that is something truly special to be part of 🇺🇸

These two babes were picked up today and brought to Montgomery County SPCA.
No tags, no microchips no records!

Please register your dog with our Town Clerk office if you haven’t already, so that if your dog(s) happen to get out we can get them back to you ASAP and avoid shelter fees and stress.
In the meantime let’s spread the word to find these dog owners ❤️

Our 64th Annual Memorial Day Parade is this Thursday! 🇺🇸

Please follow all directions from safety officers and obey all road closure signs as we honor the brave men and women who have served our country and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Come out and support our veterans, parade participants, and community as we continue this long-standing Rotterdam tradition.

Food will be available for purchase at Town Hall, along with ice cream and shaved ice! 🍦❄️

We look forward to a wonderful evening with our community. See you at the parade!

Good evening, this is a traffic advisory for tomorrow morning: Curry Road, spanning from the traffic circle to Fayette Drive, will be closed between 10:40 am and 11:20 am due to a scheduled parade. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
