🚨 MIOSHA has recorded its 13th and 14th workplace fatalities of 2026.

According to information reported to MIOSHA, on May 26, 2026, a 49-year-old transportation maintenance worker and a 51-year-old transportation maintenance worker were patching potholes along the right shoulder of northbound US-127 south of Holt Road. A passenger vehicle swerved to avoid the arrow-board truck, and the driver subsequently lost control. The vehicle entered the work area and struck both workers.

Roadside and highway work activities can expose workers to constantly changing conditions and serious struck-by hazards.

Every workplace fatality is a tragic reminder of the importance of protecting workers and promoting safe work practices on every jobsite.
