ROYAL PALM BEACH COUNCIL RECAP: At the August 20, 2026, council meeting we heard a presentation from Palm Beach County Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks, CFA, FIAAO, AAS and recognized September 2026 as Su***de Prevention Awareness month. (To connect with mobile crisis and mental health support services in Palm Beach County, dial 2-1-1)

We approved 9 consent agenda items: minutes from 7/9/26 and 7/16/26 meeting, contract with Cigna Healthcare, custodial service, 3 special events permits, radar speed signs, canal rehab, and Village owned property.
We discussed 2 regular agenda items: Village finances, temporary non-commercial signs, and approved two members to the Education Advisory board.

I reported on senior citizen celebration, back to school bash, Division Chief Vomero with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, retirement of Colonel Eric Coleman from PBSO - Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office is hiring (www.VotePalmBeach.gov), and Young At Heart registration is open.

Palm Beach County Business Loan Program
​The Business Loan Program implements several loan funds to support a broad range of new and existing businesses located in Palm Beach County.

The Program:
Supports borrowers who are unable to access traditional lenders or receive favorable terms
Provides long-term fixed or variable rate financing at interest rates lower than conventional loans
Offers subordinated financing to borrowers to fill a financing gap between private lenders and equity investments.

Typically requires borrowers to make a cash or equity contribution of at least 10% of the total project costs.

The Business Loan Program is designed to increase economic activity and create jobs in Palm Beach County by stimulating business development and investment.

In general, only private, for-profit businesses with 2 or more years of operations are eligible to apply for a loan. Eligible uses for loans include: real estate acquisition, construction or renovation, machinery and equipment, working capital, and lines of credit.

Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Continues Ongoing Recruitment of Election Workers

Become an Election Hero and Help Serve Voters Across Palm Beach County

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL -- The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office is continuing its ongoing recruitment of Election Workers, inviting community members to become Election Heroes and play an important role in serving voters across Palm Beach County.

Election Workers are essential to successful elections. They are the friendly faces who welcome voters, provide assistance at polling locations, and help ensure Election Day runs smoothly, efficiently, and securely.

“Our Election Workers are the backbone of Election Day,” said Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Sartory Link. “They give their time and talents in service to their neighbors and our entire community. Whether you have served with us before or are considering becoming an Election Worker for the first time, we invite you to become an Election Hero and join our team.”

With hundreds of polling locations throughout Palm Beach County, maintaining a strong pool of trained Election Workers is an ongoing priority for the Supervisor of Elections Office.

Election Workers receive comprehensive training and are paid for their training and service. Depending on their assigned position, Election Workers may greet and check in voters, issue ballots, maintain order at polling locations, or help voters navigate the voting process.

The Supervisor of Elections Office is looking for dependable, civic-minded individuals who enjoy working with people and want to give back to their community. Previous Election Workers are also encouraged to return and put their valuable experience to work in future elections.

Palm Beach County Announces Board of County Commissioners Public Meeting for Presentation of the draft Countywide Transportation Master Plan (CTMP) and Recommendations.

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to hear a presentation from WSP, the County’s Consultant for the CTMP, on the draft Countywide Transportation Master Plan (CTMP) at the upcoming Comprehensive Plan public hearing on August 26, 2026. The project team will present an overview of the draft documents and recommendations. The public hearing will provide an opportunity for the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) and members of the public to provide feedback prior to the adoption of the CTMP.

Early Voting in the 2026 Primary Election

Early Voting Available August 8 to 16, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – Early Voting in the 2026 Primary Election will be available from August 8 through August 16, 2026. Twenty-eight (28) Early Voting locations will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the Early Voting period.

Election Day is Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Eligible voters in Palm Beach County may vote at any Early Voting location. Early Voting locations and wait times are available at VotePalmBeach.gov.

Voters must bring a valid photo and signature ID to vote. A list of acceptable forms of identification is available at VotePalmBeach.gov.

Optional Early Voting Appointment Program

The optional Early Voting Appointment program lets voters schedule a specific time to check in to vote at any Early Voting location. This convenient and optional online tool helps voters plan ahead, avoid long wait times, and vote quickly at a time and location that works best for them. Appointments can be made at VotePalmBeach.gov.

Vote-by-Mail Ballot Drop Off

Voters may drop off their completed Vote-by-Mail ballot at any Early Voting locations during Early Voting hours. Visit VotePalmBeach.gov for Vote-by-Mail ballot drop-off hours and locations.

All Vote-by-Mail ballots must be returned to the Main Supervisor of Elections Office by 7:00 p.m., or by 5:00 p.m. to a Branch Office or Secure Ballot Intake Station on Election Day to be counted.

Free Groceries and Nutrition Classes Coming to Royal Palm Beach Branch Library

Fresh, nutritious food is coming directly to the Royal Palm Beach community. The Palm Beach County Library System is launching an expanded partnership with the Palm Beach County Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry at the Royal Palm Beach Branch Library (500 Civic Center Way) to fight local food insecurity and promote healthy living.

Starting Friday, July 24, the Mobile Pantry will operate on the fourth Friday of every month at the Royal Palm Branch. Attendees will receive free fresh produce, meat and shelf-stable items. Registration will be on site. Food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

This life-changing initiative is powered by the Food and Nutrition Program. It is a powerful collaboration between the Palm Beach County Library System, the Palm Beach County Food Bank, the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County and Florida Blue.

"Our goal goes beyond putting food on tables," said Library Director Douglas Crane. "We are bringing vital wellness resources directly to our residents. By pairing healthy food distribution with free education, we are enriching the lives of families to build stronger, healthier futures."

Event Schedule (Fourth Friday of Each Month):
10 – 10:30 a.m.: Free interactive nutrition education class.
10:30 a.m.​ – Noon: Free food distribution (while supplies last).

Alternative Location Available
Residents who cannot attend the Royal Palm Beach events can access the same resources at the Lantana Road Branch Library. The Lantana Road Mobile Pantry occurs on the second Thursday of each month, featuring the identical class and distribution schedule.

Village of Royal Palm Beach, Florida COUNCIL MEETING UPDATE: At the July 16, 2026 we had a presentation of the Village’s “America 250” flags and heard a legislative update from State Representative Anne Gerwig.

We approved 2 consent agenda items: minutes from the June 18th meeting and a special events permit.

We approved 2 regular agenda items: second reading for landscaping and vegetation management and tentative adoption of the proposed millage rate of 2.1500 that passed 3-2.

I reported on attending FL League of Cities Zoom event on property taxes www.FLCities.com, Palm Beach County Food Bank partnering with FL Summer Break Spot program where children 18 and younger may receive 2 free meals a day www.SummerBreakSpot.org, event at Commons Park, Senior Health Fair, www.PBSO.org is hiring, and I asked to revise temporary noncommercial signs on village owned property to change from specific dates to ‘Thirty days prior to an election in March, August, and November’. The council asked for it to be an agenda item for the next council meeting.
