Conclusion to Smoky Mountain Fire Expo 2026.

Held annually in Gatlinburg, the Smoky Mtn Weekend Fire Expo is held to provide trainings to firefighters from across the state of TN. This weekend two of the EHVFD’s attended, Firefighter Ethan Williams & Junior Cadet Ethan Jones. Cadet Jones would attend the Basic and Advanced Jr Firefighting course. This workshop is designed to acclimate the next generation of firefighters to the public safety profession. A combination of lecture and drill field exercises would be utilized to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required in firefighting and technical emergency operations. Firefighter Williams would first attend Fire on the Farm course. This course would focus on the tactical objectives for the 1st and 2nd due rural companies and the challenges associated with fires involving barns, livestock, crops, and equipment. The second course for Firefighter Williams was Modern Day Smoke Reading. This course teaches firefighters how to read smoke as a predictive tool for fire behavior and tactical decision-making. The final course Williams would certify in was Thermal Imaging Course . The course assists interior firefighting teams with interpreting data to facilitate rapidly locating and removing fire victims, locating flow paths, identifying rapidly deteriorating conditions inside the structure.

We appreciate and congratulate both Cadet Jones & Firefighter Williams for their time and devotion they put into the weekend and to furthering their knowledge to helping those in their community.
