🎉 HAPPY 108th BIRTHDAY, ARMY WARRANT OFFICER CORPS! 🎉

Today, July 9th, we proudly celebrate 108 years of service, leadership, and technical excellence by the United States Army Warrant Officer Corps.

The Army Warrant Officer Corps traces its official origins to July 9, 1918, when Congress established the Army Mine Planter Service. The Army’s first warrant officers served as masters, mates, chief engineers, and assistant engineers aboard military vessels responsible for protecting our nation’s coastal defenses.

Over the decades, the Corps expanded beyond maritime operations to become the Army’s premier corps of technical experts and trusted advisors. From aviation and intelligence to logistics, cyber operations, engineering, maintenance, and countless other specialties, warrant officers have earned a reputation as the professionals commanders turn to when experience, expertise, and mission accomplishment matter most.

For 108 years, Army warrant officers have served as leaders, mentors, advisors, and technical experts—bridging the gap between the strategic and tactical levels while ensuring the Army remains ready to meet any challenge.

To all past and present Army Warrant Officers: thank you for your service, your professionalism, and your unwavering commitment to Soldiers and mission success.

What a night!

On behalf of the Gold Rush Chapter, thank you to everyone who joined us for Comedy Night. It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new friends, sharing some great laughs, and raising funds to support Military Service Members, Veterans, their families, and our community.

A huge thank you to comedians Paul Conyers, Roman Spinale, Angel Castro, Jeffrey, our friends at Laughs Unlimited Comedy Club and Lounge, our generous prize donors, and the many chapter members and volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the evening such a success.

Most importantly...thank YOU for spending your evening with us.

We're especially excited to add a special guest to this year's Comedy Night lineup!

Jeffrey brings a unique perspective shaped by his Puerto Rican heritage, his upbringing between New York City and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and a career of military service. Today, he's building a reputation as an emerging comedian whose authentic storytelling and relatable humor connect with audiences from all walks of life.

A service member in the Air National Guard, Jeffrey understands service, sacrifice, and the importance of community. On June 25th, he'll bring that same authenticity, energy, and sense of humor to the Laughs Unlimited Comedy Club and Lounge stage where he'll join headliner, Paul Conyers!

Award-winning comedian Paul Conyers has entertained audiences across the United States and Canada. On June 25th, the Sacramento native returns home to headline the Gold Rush Chapter USAWOA Comedy Night at Laughs Unlimited.

Raised in Sacramento and now performing across the United States and Canada, Paul has become one of the most exciting comedians working today. His sharp storytelling, quick wit, and relatable humor have earned him a loyal following everywhere from comedy clubs and theaters to cruise ships and comedy festivals.

Gold Rush Chapter announces new officers: President - Mario Garcia, Vice President - Doug Richmond, Secretary - Melanie Ladra, Treasurer - Kevin Shaw. Chapter meetings are held monthly on the SECOND Wednesday of the month at 5pm PDT. Chapter members and guests may reach out to Melanie for details.

One of our chapter's proudest moments. On December 4, 2007, The Gold Rush Chapter unveiled the Wall of Heroes, a memorial to the Soldiers and Officers of the California National Guard who were killed in action during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
