Our 4th Annual District 1 Juneteenth Celebration was nothing short of amazing! Thank you to everyone who came out, participated as a performer, our incredible Emcee, Kenny Caraway, our band, DL & the Disciples, our incredible choir Voices of Macedonia, Youth Poet Laureate, Noa Sanaa, Comedian, Marcus, Mother Wilkins who led yhe Libations, Elika Bernard for singing the Black National Anthem, our gracious barbers, all the young people from the Natomas High Dancerettes and Sactown Majorettes, Grant Drumline, Pastor Kevin Brown for opening us up in prayer,
Councilmember Rick Jennings for taking the time to be our guest speaker, City Manager Maraskeisha Smith, our DJ Lions in Paris, all of our incredible local vendors and our Title sponsor Yolo Federal Credit Union along with everyone that came to celebrate Juneteenth as a community. We are đź’™
A big shout out to and our 4 One Youth volunteers who helped made it all happen. We appreciate our steering committee as well- EMPACT, Kedu Africa TV, Black Natomas and Black Womxn United. Great job to our new events coordinator, Maya for crushing it on your first event and our team who showed up even in the crazy heat to out on this important event for our community.
