Jonathan Quok has lived in Greenhaven Pocket his entire life. He shared that when his young daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer last year, the community rallied around his family. From neighbors to classmates to teachers, the support they received reminded him of how special District 7 truly is.

Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance is hosting its first Gold Hope Walk 5K on September 12 at William Land Park. Jonathan created a walk team called Hope Lives in 95831 to honor all the neighborhood children who have faced childhood cancer. The City of Sacramento has launched a new Public Participation Hub, giving residents one easy place to watch meetings, submit comments, and take part in the public process. You can now access City Council and City Commission meetings, including next week’s Law and Legislation Committee meeting, all in one spot.

Through the new hub, you can:

- Watch meetings live or on demand on the City’s YouTube channel

- Submit comments online from the moment an agenda is posted through the end of the meeting

- Request to speak using a digital speaker slip

- Access improved language and accessibility features, including AI‑generated captions in English and Spanish and post‑meeting caption translation in more than 100 languages

These updates expand transparency, improve accessibility, and make it easier for residents to participate in local government.

We had a wonderful time enjoying live jazz at William Land Park last week. Tomorrow, we hope you’ll join us for the next free concert at Garcia Bend Park featuring crowd‑favorite Vivian Lee. This week’s event is also a mash‑up with Trucks & Such, so you can enjoy a great lineup of food trucks while you listen. Bring your lawn chairs, your friends, and your family for a fun evening in the park.

Please note a program update for the July 24 concert: it will now feature the incredible Alex Reyes Quartet. We know you’re going to love them.

The first Jazz in July at William Land Park featuring the Jeff Minnieweather Quartet is in the books!

Thank you to LandParkCommunityAssociation and SMUD for joining us.

We loved to see all kids and families enjoying an evening of Jazz at our wonderful park here in District 7.

We will see at the next Jazz in July on 7/17 at Garcia Bend Park!
