Residential Burning Reminder

Beginning August 1st, residential burning will not be permitted in Wilton through October 31st.

Please note: Even if you call the burn information number listed on your permit and the recording indicates that burning is allowed, residential burning is still not permitted in Wilton during this time.

This seasonal restriction is in place to help reduce the risk of wildfires and protect our community during the peak fire season.

🇺🇸🎆 Happy Fourth of July, Wilton! 🎆🇺🇸

As you enjoy time with family and friends, the Wilton Fire Protection District would like to share a few safety reminders:

✅ Use only Safe and Sane fireworks purchased from local nonprofit fireworks stands. Be sure to look for the State Fire Marshal Seal.

✅ Light fireworks only on a paved surface, away from dry grass, vehicles, and structures.

🚫 Don't try to impress your family, friends, and neighbors by using illegal fireworks. Save those for the professionals. Illegal fireworks are unpredictable and can cause injuries, fires, and significant property damage.

✅ Keep a hose or bucket of water close by.

✅ Never leave children unattended around fireworks.

✅ Soak used fireworks in water before throwing them away.

The best fireworks are the ones that end with great memories, not trips to the emergency room or a visit from us.
