What happens when a truck meets an RV and a semi crushes a car?

The City of Twin Valley Fire Department and Ada Fire Department faced this challenge head-on during their Heavy Equipment Extrication Training. They tackled stabilization and tunneling techniques to rescue a mock victim with the RV vs Truck set up. The Semi vs Car setup allowed us to return to the basics, helping new members get more acquainted with extrication tools and skills. These departments understand that every accident is different, and they must be ready for whatever comes their way.

For the past 11 years, Tyler Psyck has served as a firefighter and EMT with Carlton Fire and Ambulance, showing up for others when they need it most. Now, after a recent diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), family, friends, coworkers, and community members are showing up for him.

As Tyler prepares for procedures and chemotherapy, his friend Robert created a GoFundMe to help ease the financial pressure on Tyler, his wife Anna, and their family. Donations will help with medical bills, travel expenses, household costs, and the impact of missed work while Tyler focuses on his treatment.

Through so much uncertainty, Tyler and Anna say the outpouring of love and care has given their family strength and courage for the road ahead. From phone calls and messages to donations, shares, and a benefit being planned in Tyler’s honor, they’re deeply grateful for everyone standing beside them.

Training is the backbone of effective firefighting, and the Granite Falls MN Fire Dept, always shows up ready to put in the work!

These Firefighters rotated between Roof Ventilation and Burn Box exercises, focusing on critical firefighting skills. Inside the burn box, they practiced hose advancement and interior attack, enhancing their knowledge of smoke and fire behavior. From the roof, they learned how to safely ventilating a burning structure, which is essential for improving visibility and reducing risks while on the fire ground.
